We on the BaptistBoard and FFF have a friendly competition. Each forms a team of 5 drivers and then sees whose team fares best on a given Sunday.

Interested in joining for Segment 3? It is NOT cumulative, so we all start even (wouldn't you know it; I was finally ahead after 3 years).

Man - sorry I was gone and missed this swaimj.

I got KILLED in the first week (finished segment 2 in the top 3% in the nation - now at bottom 6%!)

Just finished week 2. My team came in 3,4,7,12,16 so I will jump dramatically - maybe to the middle of the pack.

Hey Dr. Bob, that was kinda creepy! We had identical scores in the last game. I wonder if we picked the same players or the scores simply happened to match up?!
I didn't change mine after I picked them for the first race and those weren't identical scores, so I'm assuming it was a numbers thing. Unless you changed yours.

Never change. Week one they were terrible. Week two they ruled.

Now week three - all were 1-14 in QUALIFYING, but
    3 - Jarret
    12 - Rudd
    19 - Gordo
    25 - Waltrip
    38 - Mayfield
and all went down the sewer. I will slip back into last place.

I've got only two of those. Weird!
    I didn't do too great today either. Got 4, 12, 16, 19, and 37th places.

Penalty Drops Earnhardt Out of First Place

By MIKE HARRIS, AP Motorsports Writer

NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. was knocked out of first place in the Nextel Cup by a slip of the tongue. Earnhardt was docked 25 points and fined $10,000 by NASCAR on Tuesday for cursing during a TV interview after his victory at Talladega Superspeedway.

OK, time for NASCAR to go to a five second delay on the broadcasts so they can edit out profanity. NASCAR was in a lose-lose situation. If they don't dock the 25 points from E, they are being partial since they docked lesser drivers for the same thing earlier in the year. If they do dock and cost E the championship, they still look bad.

In the end it won't matter as far as E winning the championship. Gordon will be more consistent over the last 7 races and he will beat E and Busch.

It looks like they took your advice.

NBC adds 5-second delay to NASCAR coverage after Earnhardt profanity

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBC is adding a 5-second delay to its NASCAR telecasts after Dale Earnhardt Jr. used a vulgarity during a postrace TV interview last weekend.

"We're disappointed for our viewers to have to do this, but the delay provides a level of protection against anything inappropriate going out over the air," NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol said Thursday.

Note the massive silence. I can only imagine it to be everyone bowing in silent wonder at the feet of she who has taken first place. ;)

You drive like a little old lady . . .

(seriously, kudos to your choices. I've been passed the last two Sundays.)

I haven't changed any of my drivers since this segment started.
I figured out something. I had gone to change my drivers in the last segment, and found I couldn't put it back to the original ones. They were worth more points than I had. I had been at 108 and took Earnhardt off and tried to replace him and nope, put me over the limit by 8 points! Right now I'm at 104.
So if you pick decent drivers and don't change them and they go up in points, you don't go over your point limit even though you're really over it. If you go changing drivers then you're stuck picking out one or two good ones and the rest will have to be bad ones.
This will prove more beneficial in the next season than figuring it out halfway through this one.

I picked a great team for segment 2 and ended so far up I was in heaven. 99%

Then I changed a couple for segment 3 since I could not maintain the points.

My guys finished like 11,12,14,22,32 today so I will sink lower toward my NORMAL position - LOSERS!

Oh, Gina. Sorry I'm late in passing the kudos. And you won our sorry bunch GOING AWAY.

My team disappeared and finished 3rd. Pathetic 3rd compared to da Gina!

    That's ok, I shouldn't gloat, it's wrong, even though I won, twice, and you didn't. ;)
    LOL
    Ok, I'm done now.
Seriously, it is a fun little thing to do. Maybe next year we'll (or you guys if I'm not around) will all do better since we know how to work it better now. That was a pathetic win, only slightly above you and the second place teammate.

Did you win segment 1, too?

I won #2 by the HIGHEST margin though. [tongue-sticking-out icon]

No, still holding on to last year's glory. ;) I've selectively blocked the memory of segment one this year!
