In NASCAR's Nextel Chase for the Championship, five drivers have a mathematical chance with only one race remaining. It's time to make your last statement on this matter prior to the finish. Who will win the Chase?

Martin will have to do real well on a track that he historically does not do well on - and the other four will have to fall flat on their faces!

Jeff Sagarin ranks the top five drivers thusly:

    1 Jimmie Johnson 89.79
    2 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 83.03
    3 Jeff Gordon 82.49
    4 Kurt Busch 68.07
    5 Mark Martin 66.06

    Nascar ranks them thusly:

    1. Kurt Busch Leader
    2. Jimmie Johnson -18
    3. Jeff Gordon -21
    4. Dale Earnhardt Jr. -72
    5. Mark Martin -82

    Interesting

At the beginning I picked Jeff Gordon. Now I have changed my mind and think Jimmie Johnson will win. I would like Mark Martin to win before he retires, but I don't think it is very likely. I really don't want to see Kurt Busch win, but I would be ok with any of the others.

I still don't like the Chase format, but I have to admit that it has created more excitement at the end than usual. It might come down to who wins the last race and will almost certainly be decided by 50 points or less.

My whole "team" of drivers on ESPN have let me down in this 10-race anomally that has been set up.

I'm still holding out for Gordon.

    Go JUNIOR.

I would not mind if Martin won.

Jimmy Johnson's stock seems to be rising and Martin's chances slim to none. If Martin doesn't pull it off, I'd like Johnson to win.

I think Swaimj may be right in picking Gordon...unless Gordon has demoralized his crew by his crybaby fit over the air hose.

I'd much rather see Martin or Earnhardt, but I think it's nearly impossible for them. 50-60 points or so is a ralistic shot if your second, or maybe third, but with three or more in fron of you it's very very unlikely.

I hope that Mark Martin wins. But since that is not likely, my second choice is Kurt Busch. Third choice is Jimmie Johnson.
