Green Bay Packers - I love it when the TV and other media people kiss Brett Favre's posterior while he's tossing 3 or 4 picks. [IMG]

Yeah I hear ya. Its kind of funny.
I love it when the announcers for a Nortre Dame game are googling over Norter Dame when even though they are getting creamed by whoever! Hopfully Michigan will beat the tar out of them this year.

I grew up hating the Chicago Cubs, but then decided for a while that since they weren't a threat, there wasn't much use spending my energy hating them.

Over the past few years, however, my hatred has been rekindled. A buddy of mine said he'd root for Al Qaeda before he pulled for the Cubs, and I have to agree with that.

I hate the following sports teams/sports:

MLB: especially the Yankees...i can't understand how a human being can actually watch baseball without falling asleep, playing yes but watching? no

NBA: Lakers, but the whole league is a giant ghetto. I do love the sport though.

    NHL: Devils

    NFL: Cowboys

    International soccer: France, Mexico, Korea...

    MLS: is a sorry joke

WNBA is a giant joke...ladies, leave basketball and other contact sports to men please

but the best sport is Mixed Martial Arts Fighting
    UFC, Pride, etc. etc.

Seems like there is just as much hatred for the Cubs as for the Yankees.

MLB:The New York Yankees and their ridiculous sense of entitlement, The San Francisco Giants - because I grew up in LA and it's what you do.

NBA: The LA Lakers (yes, an ex native Angelino detests the Lakers. 'Nuf said.)

College anything: Notre Dame (again, the sense of entitlement)

NHL: All of them for their selfishness and complete disregard for the sport and the fans. May they rot in obscurity.

NASCAR (yes, they have teams): Robby Gordon, Jeff Gordon - for different reasons.

    Faithgirl 46:

The Wolfpack is the nick for the teams of North Carolina STATE University, arch-rival of the University of North Carolina.

NC is called the "Tar Heels" after the nick for the entire state. this nick came from the Civil War when a Confederate line broke & fled, leaving a column of North Carolinians to face their enemy alone. Upon later encountering some of those who'd fled, the NC'ers said, "Next time, we'll put tar on your heels so ya can't run away again". Upon hearing the story, General Lee exclaimed, God Bless those tar-heeled boys from North Carolina!" Their stand had halted a federal advance, giving Lee's army a little respite.

BTW, the universities of NC and Duke are only EIGHT MILES APART, which explains their huge rivalry. Both their football and basketball battles are GREAT games, with the basketball rivalry often having national implications.

Obviously, the Heels' next-greatest rivalry is with NC State, especially in basketball.

West Virginia U, at least for now, for their refusal to play Marshall at football. it took some "persuasion" by Gov. Manchin of WV to get WVU to agree to play Marshall.

This shoulda been a LONG intrastate rivalry, and WVU shoulda played them last season, as theyda won by 30 points or more, as Marshall had their poorest season in 8 years.

Things should really look up for Marshall now, as they had their best recruiting class ever, (This is the team that has produced pro starz Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, Troy Brown, Jason Starkey, Randy Moss, and other current or recent NFL players)and a new coach, who, on paper, appears to have a great career ahead of him. (Much as I think of Coach Bobby Pruett, I now believe he'd "burnt out" and wasn't making the wise coaching decisions that led to his many victories in the past.)

Marshall got some revenge last december, when a not-so-great Marshall mens' basketball team beat the nationally-ranked WVU team in their annual Hoops Classic at Charleston, WV. That was a MAJOR UPSET! The Marshall womens' team, poised on the verge of national power, won handily, as expected.
