I think Dirk is still at the foul line. He scored almost all of his points at the line last night. I wonder how is injury will affect the rest of the series?

The Mavs are getting all the calls that usually go to the Spurs. The referees did not win or lose the game though.

If I were a Spurs fan I would be extremely worried. The Spurs look old and slow.

I wouldn't worry to much. Popovich can whip his boys into shape, but I do admit they see to missing the "hunger" this year. That is a cause for concern.

Nice job by Lebron yesterday too. Now that the Pistons let the Cavs have one win, they can go ahead and close out the series.

No question - dirk spent most of the time at the line last night - and I am worried about the ankle.

If I am a spurs fan - I am worried that they lost the game that the had a significant amount of rest for. They will only have one day of rest between games the rest of the series. One area that you have to give avery credit for, is that coming down to the end of the season, he could have rushed harris and josh back into the lineup to try to win home court. Pop did rush his players (genobli and Parker) and his team is worse for the wear. The mavs, now except for Dirk, are healthy - and we hope that dirk will be ok.

Pop had a good game plan in the second half. the mavs are overpersuing on the perimeter - the spurs are whipping the ball around - then faking the pass and driving to the hole. If the mavs don't overpersue, the three is open. It will be interesting to see how avery adjusts next game.

this is the best series going

I think the Spurs rebound tonight and end up winning this series in 7. I hear they showed tremendous confidence at a great practice session yesterday.

    GO SPURS GO!!!!

This one hurt and yes I feel like the refs called another bad game. There is no way that was a foul on Bowen against Dirk on the last series of regulation. And that technical late in the game was a joke. Even Charles Barkley pointed this out after the game. I still have not giving up and the Spurs do have 2 of 3 left at home.

    GO SPURS GO!!!

    MAVS!!!!!

Another excellent game, I have no fingernails left! Right now it looks like the Mavs just have more players than the Spurs can cover. Spurs made another couple of unfortunate turovers and missed freethrows at the end of the game. Duncan had a chance to win it in regulation - I was shocked he missed the shot.

Spurs should win on wednesday, and the Mavs better take care of business on friday.

All I know is if there is a game 7 on Monday I am there. Church on Wednesday overides the game, but I will be able to watch most of it once I get home since it is another late game.

I would have never dreamed the Mavs would be up 3-1 and the Pistons would be at 2-2.

Strange things happen in the playoffs.

AF, how about just saying that the Mavs outplayed the Spurs and beat them 3 times now? Don't get caught up in whining about the refs. You are going to start sounding like a KY fan... ;) :D [IMG]

It would be nice if someone wants to guarantee a win, would at least hustle his fat butt in the game!
Serves em right, and the rest of em for backing him.

I like both teams and will pull for the winner the rest of the way out. That said, the Spurs have been on the wrong end of numerous critical and bad calls. The block called on Duncan last night may have been a block... but he wasn't inside the circle.

Manu's last foul was an absolutely ridiculous call. The guy did the right thing in attempting to draw it just like Ginobili had earlier... there just wasn't any contact.

The moving pick call on Duncan was maybe the worst. Dampier spent most of the game doing much worse on picks to include reaching out and pushing guys trying to move under his pick... and wasn't called once on it.

All in all, this is the worst officiated NBA series I've seen since Jordan and the Bulls.

The Mavs are not up 3-1 because of bad officiating. I like both teams too and will be pulling for the winner of this series to win it all as well. The officiating has been bad, but there have been bad calls on both sides. The Mavs are up because they have outplayed the Spurs and quite frankly Avery Johnson has outcoached his mentor up until this point.

Scott, I TIVOd the game so I could go back and look at some of the calls - I think the moving pick call on duncan was a makeup call for the horrible miss the reffs had just made on the wild shot that missed everything yet the reffs gave the ball back to the spurs with a new 24. The reffs were also much easier on duncan than they had been in the previous two games - what did he have, only three fouls all night. Duncan slammed devon harris on a layup (harris made the shot - but no foul called)

In my opinion manu did commit that last foul - he then went and whined to every reff in the building - thought he would go cry on cubans shoulder before it was all over!

I would agree that the reffs are making bad calls -but they seem to be going both ways.

In the final analysis, Duncan had a chance to win the game, had a great look and came up short. When he missed that shot, I knew the mavs had the game.

Spent some time with my brother in cleveland this weekend. Says he has gone to some of the games and he does not care for Lebron. They had something special for the little ones at the game where all the players came out and high fived the little ones. Not James, He came out late with his hands held to his chest and ignored the kids. Says he doesn't shoot around with the players at halftime but sits on the scoring table watching the highlights. He seems to do everything at a different time then his teammates as if he doesn't want to associate with them. Also his mother has been in trouble with the police several times since coming to cleveland.

Speaking of bad refering..............whaaaaaaaaaa. Jst kidding. James shot a 3 pter at the end of the half yesterday from out of bounds. It counted. I don't think the refing has been bad in our series, just the Piston's play. (did I say that out loud, I reserve the right to change this later in the season)

Oh yes it is just awful! [IMG]

I really like Avery Johnson. I think he is going to be a good coach for a long time!
