Do you take your children and/or youth to camp? Do you go to one that you plan, or do you go to one that is already planned?

Do you go in with a few churches, like in your association??

We go to two camps a year. Summer camp and snow camp. Solid Rock Baptist Church in Atco, NJ heads up the Young Ambassadors for Christ in this area. They invite about 25-30 different church youth groups in the area(and 1 new church that travels from Conneticut) and about 18 or 19 show up every time. The others are invited, but are hit and miss based on local church scheduling. About 350-500 youth show up ages 12 through 18. Both camps are in the Pennsylvania Pocono's(in different locations, of course.) The Young Ambassadors also have two other functions just as big. They are both 1 day events. One is a trip to Knobel's theme park. The other is an all nighter called 'Omni-night' and it is held the Thursday night before New Years every year(unless it is forced off that date due to the falling of the day of New Years Eve, then they go with Tuesday night.)

Omni-night starts at 7:00 PM with a Annual Bible quiz competition, followed by a preaching service. Then they go roller skating and indoor soccer for two hours. Then it is off to ice skating, roller hockey and ice hockey for 2 hours. Then a final 2 hours of bowling. Add in the travel time and it finishes at around 5 AM. All you can eat RB and meatball sandwiches and Acme brand sodas at the roller skating rink and doughnuts at the end of bowling, plus snack bars at all locations. This is for 'saved', obedient, faithful church youth. It is also highly recomended that college aged singles come to this activity. No visitors, no unruley youth invited. It is a 'reward' of sorts to be invited. Cost: $15.

The Knobel's trip is just that. 1 day at Knobel's theme park. It starts off with an open air preaching service at 11:00 AM and the rest of the day is up to you. Stay all day or leave when it is best for your church to leave. This is geared towards the youth, but all church members and guests are invited. Cost: $25.

Summer Camp is held at Highpoint Baptist Campgrounds in Highpoint, PA out of Highpoint Baptist Church. They have everything from hourseback riding to segregated(male and female swim times are not the same) swimming pool (located on highest hill in area with 8 foot fence, dress code for all swimmers enforced); seperate feilds for soccer, baseball, football, obstical course, water balloon battle ground and mountain walk path(supervised during all 'free time' and closed when unsupervised); lake with huge slide, "water blob" with platform, floating 'Iceberg' mountain, water skiing, platform dives and rope swing. This is geared towards all youth 12-18 that are members of the invited church and are not unruley. No guests. This runs from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. Cost: $135.

Snow camp(which starts in 9 1/2 hours from now and I have never been to, this will be my first time to accompany our group) has skiing, snow boarding, bowling, ice skating, etc. Everything a snow camp would have. :D This is geared the same youth as summer camp. This runs from Monday morning to Thursday afternoon. Cost: $105(up to 165 if you go skiing, boarding, begginer's courses, lift tickets, etc.)($105 pays for non-skiing/boarding campers)

Both camps have 3 meals a day and preaching three times daily with cabin devotionals daily.

I have never seen a teen-ager more fired up for God then right after a camp or Omni-night(more so at the camps.) Our entire church usually sees a revival after youth camps! They are great for youth. I think the best part about it is that it is week full of Christian teens on their best behaviour having a lot of fun with other Christian teens. That experience is very influential(remember your first semester in dorms at college?) on a young person. The fact that they hear the Word of God preached three times a day and help each other acheive the goals and commitments they set during those services make all the difference to a teen seeking the Lord! (I can't wait till morning!)

Our Youth and Teens attend Old Paths Baptist Camp in Missouri each summer. Old Paths is run by Brother Mike Cook. Brother Mike is the former Youth Pastor form our chruch. His camp at this point is rather primitive, but, the kids do take some day trips for activities that the camp dosn't have yet, such as swimmming. Each year Brother Mike adds something more to the camp, and tries to make it a better experience for the kids. There are morning and evening services each day, with activities in between.

Cost of the camp is $0 per child. Brother Mike does not charge any kids to come, he supports the camp through his preaching the rest of the year. Improvements to the camp are funded by donations and love offerings.

No doubt the best-run camp in the United States is THE WILDS just outside of Brevard, North Carolina. The facility, staff, speakers, amenities, activities, etc. are first class. I've never seen a better camp. I grew up in California and went to those camps. I am familiar with the camps in the mid-west, but nothing compares to the WILDS. Check it out for yourself if you are any where near that part of the USA. (Yes, we are taking our juniors and teens there this summer. No, I have no connection to the camp...just heartstrings because of what the camp has done for me, my young people and 1000's of others through the years. Please see their website--- http://www.wilds.org )

The Wilds is an excellent camp! I really praise the Lord for them. I was saved there in 1974 as a young teen.

I don't know if I would call it a church camp, but there is a camp on Table Rock Lake that is tied somewhat into the Kanakuk/Kanakomo (Joe White) camps that, if I were working with inner city kids, I would take them to. It is called Kids Across America, and is geared to inner city kids' needs.

We take the teenagers to MissionFuge in the summer. Its an awesome camp experience coupled with a mission-trip as well. Each teen chooses a ministry track and goes into the community each day to meet needs. Then at the end of camp, each church group commits to something similar back at home.
Then we do a retreat as well at which we use lay leaders or other Christian leaders.
For the kids, we do a retreat and day camp type things.

Our Youth attends two camps a year Summer camp and Snow camp.

Summer camp was at Mt. Zion Baptist camp.
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church out of Chico,
California are the ones who put it all together every year they do a wonderful job I would recommend this camp to all youth groups.
