I only listen to Christian music. I like Audio Adrenaline, the Newsboys, the Supertones, and soft Christian music, too.

Since you've asked everyone about they favourite music,I feel obligated to answer you.But first of all, I think that you should know that I'm also a new guy around here(actualy, a very new guy ).I'm from Romania (if you've heared of it).
And now,to answer to your question: I like Christian music.I also enjoy to listen to nice music (slow,blues). My favourite kind of music is the classical guitar music.
I love singing and listening to it,.

Hi there Serena, I also am new to the board. I love to listen to good Gospel music where our Holy God is lifted up, i.e., Our GOD is an Awesome GOD, for instance. I am a Youth Director and really enjoy hearing our young people listening to GOD Centered music, BUT, be careful, listen very closely some of todays Gospel music, isn't really GOD centered. Ask yourself, " Are they singing about MY GOD" or A GOD. Serena, hi again and may God Bless you SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!

Hey.. like most of the others i am new too!!! I love Christian music. My Fav's are DC Talk, Ginnie Owens, and Third Day. But I like just about all of them.. I also occasionally listen to Country .. bye bye Always Remember Jesus Loves YOU!!!

 

WOW! It is so good to see so many new youth giving there lives to the Lord our God! Just sayin thats all. I am 23 (old fert) just passin through all of my usual topic boards. Good luck to all and remember to trust the Almighty for everything! I will pray for you all!

At 40, I hate evrything.

Just kiddin' I like folk music, blues & some country. I don't feel comfortable with most rock, nowadays. I get really depressed when I put my old Led Zep cds in. I love bluegrass gospel, but I don't think that kind of music belongs in church. I prefer traditional hymns when it comes to church services.

I listen to classical music in the car, because it removes my urges to kill the friendly Massachusetts drivers I come across. I listen to jazz when I want to realize how bad of a musician I really am. I listen to blugrass & folk in the home. I also ocassionally will go to the local club to see a good band, but I notice I don't do that as often as I used to. I used to play in rock & roll bands myself, but after being saved I really could not justify spending every weekend in a bar.

Once in a while I go up into the White Mountains & listen to the wind & hawks. There is great music there.

 

Mr. Curtis, you mentioned"local club", exactly what type of club are you referring to? I imagine this is a question that needs clarification. We wouldn't want our Youth thinking wrong, would we?

hey serena...what up girl?? keep pluggin on the ccm...there's so much incredible christian music out there nowdays and so much varity, I think there's a style for just about all tastes so you are in luck hehe anywho...keep jamin and praising..

I really like classical music, especially piano. I like classical guitar too, but not as much as piano...I guess because I play the piano.

As far as Christian music goes, I listen to CCM and gospel.

 

I mainly just like to listen to Southern Gospel. Especially the Gaither Vocal Band, and the homecomings they have. I also like praise and worship songs. I listen to country sometimes.

 

I listen to a lot of stuff.
Lotsa Christian music: POD (Ya, I know...), John Ruben. Supertones, Disciple..
Some Secular Music: Pink Floyd, U2, Egales

So yep, lotsa stuff

Bugman- Did you hear POD's interview with Howard Stern a couple of years back. His mouth dropped to the floor when they gave their testimonies and called Stern on his being perverted. Hrm...Somehow I don't think they will be invited back

Thanks for the links. They don't have the interview on their website anymore. It's great to see that God is working through their music to reach people. I guess it puts a kink into the idea that all Christian rock is from satan!

Hi Adam -

When it comes to secular music, I grew up (debatable) listening to primarily quality rock like Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Edgar Witer, Hendrix, all the Southern Rockers, etc. and when I rode in the car with Dad it was country like George Jones, Conway Twitty (the name says it all, don't it?), Eddy Arnold, Bobby Bare, etc.
Margie was in the same mode, though some of her rock was a bit harder edged than mine.

Now that we're old and decrepit I tend to listen to country and Margie listens to the newer rock. She had mentioned POD many times and talked about the positive message that they project so I was interested in the flow of the chat in here.

I turned into my parents however when it comes to the new rock. "Can you even understand what they're saying?" "Look at his hair! You can tell he's not on his way to a job interview!" "When I was your age I was out working 15 hours a day for 35 cents an hour!"

I am a somewhat reformed heavy metal addict...somewhat in that the message counts for me these days. There may be many critics of the bands that promote Christian ideas as being too secular, but in my opinion, I would much rather know that my daughter and students were listening to P.O.D. over Limp Bizkit...since "kids" like me are as much attracted to a sound, perhaps more so, than to cleverly written lyrics, it stands to reason that youth buy what sounds right to them. Youth is angst...couldn't the sound reflect it? The good message goes in, and even if it doesn't, the listener is "protected" from subliminal seduction.

I don't know why I haven't "outgrown" the sound, perhaps it's because of my work. In any case, this old lady likes a heavy sound, and I don't subject that old man in the above post to my music!
