Is it just me or do any of you ever feel like you are struggling with everything!! Let me try to explain....I feel like I am having the sweetest fellowship with the Lord..and then the next day I just decide to put him on the back burner and forget about him! [IMG] It's horrible and I feel horrible! Or it seems like I have everything in perspective and then....you guessed it I lose it! :( Then it seems like the Lord says " Wake up Jessica, I'm still here, and you should probably take notice of me" I fail the Lord so much and I know it breaks his heart to see me forget about him. And to make matters worse I go to public school...where I get NO encouragement or fellowship with the brethren. My sister is the only one I have...but we hardly see each other. I hope I haven't discouraged anyone by posting this. Your input and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

    In Christ,
    ~Jess~

P.S. Sorry If my grammar and spelling is bad

    Dixie Girl,

What a heart felt testimony! This should be an exhortation to all of us to Love the brethern. Prov 24:16 says, "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:" God is always with us even if we forget Him at times. The important thing is when do remember Him to pick ourselves up and keep going!

I want to add a word of encouragement here. I am guessing that those writing in the above posts are teens, early or late. Or early twenties.

Guys and gals, it is NORMAL for this confusion and wrestling now! NOTHING IS WRONG! Please don't feel guilty or lost because of it, OK?

You are all becoming adults. You will have adult decisions to make, and those decisions will determine the course of your lives. You HAVE to wrestle with God now so that you can KNOW Him and know your faith and the reasons for it later. You are long past riding in on your parents' or teachers' coattails! Your brains are literally (physically) re-wiring during these years. The "Who am I"? question is the biggest one in your life right now. And as you solve it, bit by bit, you will be able to give that person to God in a final and adult way. So many of us who came to the Lord finally and really did so in our early to mid twenties. And the years before that were full of that roller coaster ride of pain, confusion, joy, sureness, unsureness, and the rest. God goes from being your best friend to perhaps a figment of the human imagination. Your life goes from being on purpose and planned to a cosmic accident. And back and forth.

It is not a crime or sin to say, "God, if you are real, I need help with all of this!" There is nobody in all of eternity or space, including you yourself, who understands your confusion as well as God does.

Don't be afraid of the mental wrestling. It's necessary and normal.

But don't be afraid of the answer which lets you know He is not only real, but your Maker and Redeemer as well, and your life will have to be given fully over to Him IN YOUR ADULTHOOD, or not at all. He doesn't play games. He knows you. He loves you. He understands you. But don't try to con Him. He doesn't con... :D

One last point -- while you wrestle, you are still with Him and He is still protecting you. Take comfort in that!

  5. I am where you are all the time it seems. Sometimes I think I am doing real good then I am so terrible. I am just glad if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us of them.
