    Excellent point, Abby.

Did you know that purple is refered to and has importance because the purple dye was gotten from snails and it took about a bazillion crushed snails to color one garment? So the color purple showed you had the money and the means to have that cloth created for you.

Ok..I wear toe rings, and occasionally I'll wear anklets. Why? Because I enjoy them. As for them being costly..Lol..I won't pay more than $5 for a ring on my toes.
Earrings? Well..I got my first holes done when I was 18 months old, my second holes when I was 13 years old, and my top cartilage ring when I was 19. The cartilage, well..I like it, but if I had known that it was going to hurt so bad for a year, I would have saved that money.
I'm pretty modest though..I wear 2 rings all the time. One is a birthstone ring that I got for my twelth birthday, and one is my True Love Waits ring. Those are pretty much the only ones I wear, except for now and then when I will wear a ring with changable stones (Girls..you know the ones where you get about 9 different round stones?)
I am planning on one day getting my hair cut very short...and yes, I'll wear earrings more then. I've got to get some courage up for that one though..

This is off the point, but yes Grace, I know the rings you are talking about. I had one. But it was so funny! Somewhere between church cleaning, and babysitting, I lost all of the little balls that went in it!
I'm more careful now. I've started nusery, and my first Sunday my precious little Kaelea decided she was gonna pull my cameo off my dress! Then she went for my earings. {She also thought my toes were interesting! :D  } And just to clarify, Kaelea is one years old, so that's why she kept pulling on my jewlery.
And when I clean at church, I don't wear any jewlery.
Oh, and I'm just curious...what do ya'll think about a girl wearing her hair up? I do a lot in the summer, but I have heard some people say they didn't think it was right. So does anyone have any scripture for that? I'm not looking to base my life on people, but Bible.

I've never really read or even heard that there was anything wrong a woman wearing her hair up.

I'm a big fan of the ponytail.. when I'm horseback riding, I'd prefer to have my hair out of my way, and it's AWFUL for me to wear my hair down during the summer, because it's so thick and hot.. yuck [IMG]

And as for jewelry and make-up, I'm gonna have to go with "less is more". The only jewelry I wear all the time is my class ring, and my watch (and, once upon a time, my wedding band). I hardly ever wear earrings, even though, I have 3 holes in one, and 2 in the other.

I have a problem with jewelry, in that, I break out really bad from fake jewelry, so I have to be careful in what I wear, anyway. [IMG]

Anklets and toe-bracelets drive me nuts, so I never, ever, ever wear them. [IMG]

Let's see.. makeup.. I hate glitter, thick Christina-esqe eyeshadow, etc.

Make-up is made to enhance your natural features.. not conceal them behind 5 pounds of gunk.

I wear light colored eye-shadows, mascara, a tad bit of blush and lip gloss. That's it. Regardless of what I'm doing.

It's what I wear on an average day, and when I go out, I usually just put on a different color eye shadow.

hmm... I tried wearing toe rings once, but they tickled me so much, and I just couldn't get used to it... ugh! I hardly ever wear rings on my fingers either. I usually always wear sneakers with socks, so anklets are out... heh.

Just about the only jewelery I ever wear is my watch, 2 pairs of silver hoop earrings, and a white gold & diamond stud in my right nostril. That one cost me a pretty penny... but, it was the smallest they had, and the only that I liked.

As for makeup, I own a stick of mascara and three eyeliner pencils, and that's it. I think at one point I used to have some lipstick, but I can't remember. teehee.

I have not now, or ever, worn an 'ankle bracelet'. As I approach 50 in a few years, and a probable [IMG] mid-life crisis, I will not THEN wear one either. I did have an 'ID bracelet' when I was in Jr High-gave it to a girl, and it was never returned. [IMG]
