I used to wear it all the time when I was younger. Now I rarely bother. That's kind of backwards, right?
I saw this news story about people using colored pencils for makeup: http://m.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/crayola-don-products-makeup-article-1.2229736
Am I the only one that remembers being in high school, all of us crowded in front of the mirror with lighters and markers, doing our eyeliner? (for the guys - the lighter is used to soften the eyeliner)
So how has your makeup routine evolved? Mine is to only bother if I feel low and need a pick-me-up, which is usually every few months. I graduated from Crayola to big girl makeup long ago, though the smell of fire softened colored pencils remains surprisingly fresh in my memories!

TOTALLY remember the lighter and eyeliner!! I should make up one of those things on Facebook "Who remembers the relationship?" things. :)

I always wear foundation and have for a long time. I like the BB creams because they combine a few beauty items including sunscreen and yet they are light. I have rosacea so it's nice to have a more even skin tone.

When I'm not going anywhere, I just do the BB cream. If I'm going out, I will most of the time throw on some eye gunk (shadow, liner, mascara) because I feel like my eyes really have no definition otherwise. I wear blush sometimes but not often and I don't overdo my eye gunk much at all (you might not even realize I have it on). But a day like today where hubby and I got McDonald's breakfast sandwiches, went to the park at the harbor and ate then took a walk and soon I'm heading to the barn to ride 4 horses, I just stick with the BB cream. :)

The older I get, the less I can wear and not scare people. I wore the stereotypical clown make-up in the 1980's. (LOL!)

Like Annsni, I wear BB cream everyday. It's light and quick to go on. Lipstick and blush and eyeliner are a must. I remember the days between the liquid eyeliner of the 1970's (which I was forbidden to wear) and the stick eyeliner of the 1980's that finally came to our area.

So my best friend and I would go to the grocery store where her sister worked in the bakery and we would get her to give us those black wax/grease pencils that they wrote prices with and those were our initial stick eyeliners.

If I could pull off the no-make-up look, I would.

Ann, I use Physician's Formula, the one called Rx311 Redness Relief Moisturizer. for taming redness when it gets too bad. And with lupus, it does get bad!
It works for my daughter who also gets the lupus redness issue.
It is the only one I've tried that works without feeling the need to add something else to help, which we can't do without it getting worse after a bit.
It feels light to me, but I am not too experienced with this stuff and have only tried samples of ones specific to redness.

Gina - I usually use Clinique Redness Solutions and it's worked great for me. I use the cleanser and moisturizer and I find it does the trick and the cleanser definitely doesn't leave me feeling all dry and sore. I will check out the Physician's Formula though because I'm due for new moisturizer and while the Clinique isn't super expensive, it's still costly and if I can find something that works well for less money, that would be great!

I tend to be a rarely bother,... can't say the last time I wore it... Years. I will randomly put some on--once in the last ten years. Can't remember the occasion, but don't usually bother.

I don't color my hair either unless it is for fun.

I definitely color my hair. That's one area I keep up on although I do it myself. I actually just did a root touch-up this morning. It costs me about $6 a month total so not so bad!

I dye mine too, though I recently let it go to see how much grey there is now. If it wasn't greying in such a weird pattern, I'd not bother. But it is, which looks silly, but when I dye it blue, the pattern makes it look done very purposely, as the dark hair stays dark and the blue shines where it covers the grey, which otherwise looks like a weird wrap of just my bangs and front sides. LOL My hair is way too dark to have it lose color in just those areas.

I have a love/hate relationship with make up. I wear it most every day, sometimes a full makeup, and sometimes just lip gloss and mascara. It all depends on what I'm doing. The key for me is mascara and lip gloss. Oh, and earrings. I don't leave the house without 'em. :)

As far as my routine evolving, well, the only difference from when I was young is that I color my hair now. Everything else is kinda the same.

The joy of getting older is that I just don't care, as long as I am not a figure of fun. For me, that means......clean and tidy, my hair is solid grey and kept neat and tidy, occasional lipstick if I feel like it, touch of perfume, and regrettably a regular visits to the beauty salon for removal of my van dyke moustache and beard......truely the most hideous aspect of female ageing .

I wear very little makeup. I have never really worn it. I used a bit of eyeliner and some mascara and maybe a touch of lip gloss but I don't always do my lips. I never liked the feel of make up on my face. I just couldn't get use to it. I am glad that I have good skin so make up isn't really necessary.

I rarely wear makeup. I only wear it for church and special events.
When I do wear it, i don't wear much. I typically wear foundation, powder, mascara and lip gloss. If it's a really special event then I may add eyeliner and lipstick.

I wore makeup when I was younger but now I never bother. Sometimes I wish I did but haven't used any in so long I hardly know where to start.

I don't wear it that often anymore. I used to feel like I had to wear it or I wasn't pretty. But I've learned God made me the way I am and my true worth is in Christ, not in how I look. If I wear it, it's light and only on my eyes. Eyeliner and eye shadow. That's it. :)

Since I am now working from home, I don't have to wear make-up all the time. However, whenever I go out, I make sure I look pretty great. I would often put on some lipstick, and blush-on, and then I am good to go.
