I love my Kindle!! I will also add any books that I find as well. The Wiersbe books go on sale regularly so I've built up a good library of those and always get the new ones when they come out. :)

Free Books, I might have to figure out how to use the Kindle thing. I know my wife used to buy books for it on Amazon, so I'm guessing I would need to use her account? If I can't break into her account is there anyway to still get them.

I lost touch with tech stuff after the VCR.

If you have any device to get on the internet, you can have a Kindle app. :) You don't need an actual Kindle in order to get Kindle books! I have the app on my computer, iPad and iPhone as well as have two Kindles (a Fire and a Paperwhite) so I have plenty of places to read what I purchase. You can actually connect your Amazon account to your wife's so that any books you purchase/download, you can share them with her and she can do the same with you. So go into your Amazon account and look around for the Kindle apps and for how to get the family connected.

    Here are the apps: https://www.amazon.com/gp/digital/fiona/kcp-landing-page?ie=UTF8&ref_=klp_mn

Maybe this app thing might be better for me.

My experience with the Kindle is not good. My wife set me up to read a book while she was shopping/getting hair done. When she came back over an hour later I was still on the first page, just couldn't figure out how to change the page.

Just me and the cat now, and she doesn't seem to be much of a reader. Wink

:) Do you still have that Kindle? I LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite because it's easy on the eyes (the e-ink technology is not harsh on the eyes), I can change the font size depending on if I wear my reading glasses or not and the sidelight is bright enough for me to read at night but not so bright that it wakes up my husband. I have about 1000 books on there right now and when I'm done with one, I go straight to the next one. I think I've actually purchased less than 20 books in total - the rest were free! Oh and the battery life is so good that I plug it in about every 3 weeks or so. :)

But the apps are great too and that is how my husband reads. He uses his computer or his iPhone and it works great for him!

I still have the Kindle sitting on the kitchen table. I plugged it in a while back to charge up the battery.

Not sure about Paperwhite, or even what it is. I will have to sit down some day and try and figure out how it works. For now I got the app, and downloaded a bunch of Free books.

I read books on my tablet using the Kindle App. I don't think I've read a paper bound book for 8 months or so. I love the low light level at night, no sound of turning pages. Actually, I guess my wife loves those features more than I do.

This site has a lot of free books, or books for 99 cents and $1.99. If you sign up for an account they send you an email every Saturday with the weekly specials. A lot of them are linked to Amazon.com

I use the kindle app on my ipad. I obtain books on there from time to time especially those that are free. However, I still love my library of actual books. I love to collect books that you hold in your hand.

I'm a convert! I use the Kindle app on my iPad.
I can make the print as large as I like and read in dimly lit rooms. Its made reading much more pleasurable.
Now I'll only purchase a hardbound copy if I've already read it digitally and want to have one for my library shelf.

I'm not usually into daily devotionals but here's a free one that a friend recommended to me.

Heart of the Matter: Daily Reflections for Changing Hearts and Lives [Kindle Edition]

    Thanks for posting the link.

I picked up some new books, and now if I can find some place to sell me some extra time to read everything I have in my Libraries, I will be all set.

When the kindle first came out I remember people thinking it was going to be the death of the actual paper books but that's not been the case at all.

While there are quite a few sites now we're you can get free kindle books, some people will always prefer the non electronic format of the book.

I need a 12 step program for downloading free books. Since Jan 1st, I have gone from 0 books, to a collection of 434.

I have deleted some, as I would read just enough to know it wasn't good. I'm not sure how many books you need on How to Train your Cow, or build a Tiny House, or butcher the dog, but I'm sure I have exceeded the limits.

LOL - Tell me about it Kevin!! I have about 1000 books on my Kindle Paperwhite and some more on my Kindle Fire plus even more in the "cloud". It's been great though because my husband is a pastor and there are times he needs to get a book but I already have it in my library. I'm pretty picky about what I get and I've been finding that so many of those non-fiction books like you mentioned are just not that great and are really no more than a pamphlet in ebook form. :) But good theological books I'll always pick up and save and then I grab some fiction here and there and then ditch them when I'm done. :)

I grabbed this one the last time you recommended it. Very good. Evan6589 wouldn't like it, though. LOL.

Wow! Thank you for this. I don't have a kindle e-reader itself (I'd love to own one, even a second-hand, but I don't have the budget for it yet), but I do have a kindle app in my android phone. It's pretty convenient to have especially to pass time. I will look into these books. I will have to delete some of my current titles as I'm running out of space.
