My friend, you are conflating justification with sanctification. I expect that with Roman Catholics, but it shouldn't happen on a Baptist forum.

We are justified- declared righteous by God- by grace alone, through faith alone. That is our salvation. Christ died not for good people, but for the ungodly (Romans 5:6).

We are also sanctified positionally by God alone. 'To those sanctified [perfect participle] in Christ Jesus' (1 Cor. 1:2). We are set apart by Him for the good works that He has pre-ordained for us (Eph. 2:10). However, our progressive sanctification also involves us. 'For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness.......etc. (2 Peter 1:5ff). But even here, we are upheld by God in those efforts. '......For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose' (Phil. 2:13).

So whilst a Christian must endure, and must obey the commands of our Lord, we are promised that we will do so. If we are Christ's sheep, we will follow the good Shepherd, He will give us eternal life and no one will snatch us out of His hand (John 10:27-28); if we do not follow Him in obeying the Father's commands, it is because we are not His sheep, and He will say to us, "I never knew you! Depart from Me, you who practise lawlessness!" (Matt. 7:23), not, "I knew you once and then forgot about you!"

'Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies Himself, even as He is pure' (1 John 3:3). If there is someone who claims to be a Christian but has no interest in keeping His commandments, he is deceiving himself (1 John 1:6).

Browner is not a baptist. He refuses to list his church's denomination and claims he is non-denominational and his local assembly is a very generic Freedom Community Church.

And this part of the forum is not limited to Baptists Only. :)

Yep, many do this and then come up with a works gospel. And that is not the gospel at all.

    This is so ridiculous!
Those who are faithful, i.e. co-operative, are preserved.
Basically, these are God's elect ... those who are faithful, obedient, etc.
Don't know about you, but I have free will ... I'm not a robot.
I am fully able to fall away from God, run from God,
be fully involved in habitual (unrepented-of sin), and many etc.
Vich is the case of MANY in today's Laodicean churches.
These are the ones who need to be woken up (how about awakened?).

News Flash ... It's not all about YOU!
It's about those MANY who believe in John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, OSAS.
These are taking advantage of what they perceive is God's gift of grace.
But, their perception is wrong, false, incorrect, etc.
Blame it all on Satan working through ignorant church leaders.

God's grace includes the gift of a new nature, plus the Holy Spirit,
both of vich result in the opportunity to overcome sin through
obedience and repentance ... unto eternal life.
Paul gave the formula to the Roman believers in Romans 6 ...
slaves of obedience unto righteousness unto holiness unto eternal life.

I do not consider the bible to be "ridiculous" but you are certainly free to believe whatever you want.

First of all, John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

Second, why would any saved person want to live in open habitual sin? When a person gets genuinely saved God changes his "wanter." He no longer wants to live in sin. The person who wants to live in sin should probably "make your calling and election sure."

Exactly! It is not about you and what you do, it is about Christ and what He did!

You left out the most important verse (v.27)!

In John 10:27-29, Jesus is ONLY talking about God's elect ...
those who were elected from before the foundation of the world.
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

    They HEAR God's voice.
Jesus KNOWS them (in a personal relationship).
    They FOLLOW Jesus.

These verses do not apply to those who do not have a personal
relationship with God the Father and Jesus (see John 17:3) ...
and who are not faithful enough to remain faithful
(whatever this means to you personally) until the end of their lives.
