I am looking into Crown too. On Tuesday I am going to a revival where the pastor of Southwest or Heartland's pastor is speaking. I am real excited!

I went last night and boy the Holy Sprit spoke to me last night, It's great to have revival of the spirit. Bro. Sam preached on Matthew 5:3-4 if you don't eat or drink of the word you will starve. It made me think about how I only read 3 or 4 chapters of the bible a day and should spend more time reading and studying the word of God.

I'm not going to tell any of you which Bible college you need to attend, nor even if, in fact, that's where the Holy Spirit wants you to go [He COULD want you to go somewhere else instead, you know.]. I'll leave that up to Him since He'll do a much better job at it can I could ever hope to do.

Instead, I'll tell you MY story.

At the church where I was once a member, the pastor encouraged all of the members to get as much biblical education as each of us could. To that end, he had established a Bible Institute that taught regularly scheduled evening classes with lectures, lessons, quizzes and tests (i.e., the shootin' match!)

As I began to get more involved in the Bible Institute, I began to "sense this urge" that maybe the Lord wanted me to "go on...."

Natually, he opened the pulpit to as many Bible colleges that he deemed worthy to present what that college had to offer.

The more that these colleges presented "their program(s)," the more I "sensed this urge." However, I wanted to be 500% certain that this "urge I was sensing" was from God and not just from yours truly. Now, I know that some would think that concern to be just "wimping out"; after all, how could God NOT call someone to a BIBLE college?

Well, as many of you have heard/seen/talked to people, there ARE some that may be shouldn't go to Bible college for any number of reasons that I'll not "go there" at this time.

God had already given this (at that time) 6 YO in Christ enough sense to know that it can just as easily be one's flesh "calling you" (and we all know who it is who is pulling the strings and pushing the buttons in that realm!). If Satan can just get you involved in "good things," he can accomplish his purposes that way because then he's succeeded in keeping you away from "the BEST thing" (whatever God REALLY wants from you).

Here's where my pastor showed me wisdom far beyond his years. I asked him how does one SPECIFICALLY KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that it's really heaven showing up on the caller ID and not some person/place whenever "the urge" reared its head?

His advise was this: If you have even the slightest inclination that it may be God as the call originator, go ahead and do whatever Bible college X requires of you to do to enroll, but then at the same time keep praying that if it ISN'T God urging you to close doors and make it impossible for you to attend.

So I did that. Sent in all the application stuff, and waited to hear from Bible college X. Nothing came from them it seemed.

Then one Friday afternoon I was ushered into what's now called "Human Resources" where I worked. (That's NEVER a good sign if you're already working there and didn't apply for some transfer to another department...trust me on this!!)

Bottom line was that due to lack of contracts, they were forced to downsize in my department. I had enough time in another department, even though the pay was less than the one I was currently in. I could "bump" into a position there if I wanted to stay with that company.

They wanted me to tell them right then and there what I wanted to do. I managed to weasel out of that one for that Friday, but, first thing Monday morning, I'd HAVE to tell them what course "I'd" chosen. (Remember, still no word from Bible college X.)

"OK, Lord, now it's getting REALLY close to 'crunch time.' What are my options here, Lord?"

Now, how was I to know that the person handling that part of the admissions section had been really sick and had gotten a little behind in mailing out a couple letters of acceptance from Bible college X?

Anyway, along with the assorted ads and junk mail that was the usual Saturday contents in my mail box, was....you guessed it!!!

Come Monday, I KNEW SPECIFICALLY WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT....1,000% CERTAIN of from where "that urge" had its origin!!! No need to hesitate or stutter when I went to the H.R. fellow that day!

    What a lucky co-incidence for me..... N - O - T!!!
