I agree, but, I do not see this as a Christian matter. It is a matter of rights bestowed to people by the law of the land. The rights we have as Christians far exceed any right bestowed by a country in this world.

Although, I will say that paternity leave thing in Canada is kinda cool.

Bottom line, this would be a matter a Christian has a right to disagree about, and while as a Christian there might not be a right or wrong, as an American...there certainly is. Not really open for debate as an American.

I don't really see a scenario where the Christians that exist in the Tribulation will be fighting for freedom. It will be more an issue of fighting for their lives, and I don't think guns will be a part of their arsenal.

    God bless.

I don't think the church needs to take a "position on guns", as scripture does not do so on specific weaponry even as it's explicit on homicide, differentiating among accidental, negligent, and premeditated. The Ten Commandments deal with people and actions, not objects.

The Bible does indeed deal with the use of lethal weaponry. And we are to protect orphans and widows. Clearly, acting on our own (from anger or indignation) is forbidden. But acting under cover of authority, like a police-person or soldier is advocated. In Hebrews 11, read the last 5 names. They were all soldiers!!

In the age of ISIS, I see nothing wrong with ensuring several concealed carry permit holders attend every public meeting.

The use of lethal weapons is also approved in the bible. Even commanded.

Luke 22:36 Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword."

The Bible certainly addresses the use of weapons, in numerous places, and if I've inferred otherwise I apologize. However, I don't think it has a stated position on, say, clubs versus knives, or on whip control.

Frequently from the pulpit, we are encouraged to join the church"s militia.
Men, women and children can join.
They provide instructions on how to bear arms, load and fire the rifles.
Local authorities invite us to attend public events.
We"be had a live-fire skirmish on the property in the past.
Kids can not carry real rifles u til they are eighteen years old.

To clarify further, our church is a historical property associated with the Revolutionary War.
There was a small battle on the property in the 1770"s.
Our militia has two cannons, a signal gun and numerous rifles as well as other historical paraphernalia, a number of canvas tents, cookware, etc.
We are often invited to march in the front of local parades.
As the militia marches we hand out pamphlets telling people who we are and giving the gospel message.
