I am a first-time pastor, and our church is holding a revival. I'm 41 years old and haven't been a part of a church that has had a revival since I was a teen, so I'm in new territory for me this whole week.

For those of you who have been the host pastor of a revival, what did you do during the day as the revival was going on?

    A little context...
    - Small church in the country, located in between two small towns, populations ~1300 and ~900.
    - Five Baptist churches, three Pentecostal churches, and two Methodist churches in these two towns.
    - Heavily churched, so most people are members somewhere.

Aside from the obvious of prayer, getting into the towns, and preparing for my upcoming Sunday sermons, what are some things you'd be doing in my position?

Sorry, don't know why it posted for me. Didn't click the "post" button. Going to edit the OP to continue.

How far out is the revival? How are you constantly promoting it in your church? How are you constantly building it up? What is the theme? What specifically is the desired outcome? (please do not just say revival) What kind of special music have you planned? Who is/are the speaker/s?

Door-to-door visitation - labor intensive but quite effective.
In my youth this was one of our favorite strategies for conferences and extra-curricular meetings of all kinds.

It's a little scary at first but after a while I actually looked forward to it

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO ALONE. Two-by-two seems best.
Be prepared with the appropriate printed material and to present the gospel.
