I wonder if this observation holds true in other parts of the country. Would others please share your observations?

I see retirees resorting to projector lamps illuminating the house with little white dots & assorted colors (some are better than others).

But as for me Revelation 22:17 Come, Lord Jesus.

Don't have any children. But, those munchkins I do influence won't hear about Santa from me. Though, I also won't nuke their beliefs.
    No problems with it
We're canceling Sunday School and Adult Bible Study for a longer AM service. And our Sunday lunch is going to be a Christmas dinner. And we're canceling our 2pm afternoon service.
Our congregation takes up a special Christmas offering which is divvied up among out missionaries.
As noted above, the X is actually a chi. Thus is an ancient abbreviation for Christ.
    None really.
I'll be handing out eggs and candy at our local food bank the Monday before Xmas like I do every month.
One day is as good as another.

Rejecting the Mass of Christ is kind of like telling your Catholic parents you have been born again and want to follow Jesus in scriptural baptism. You may get excommunicated, certainly shunned.

Could we have a similar discussion about celebrating the baptism of infants?

    We seem consumed with ecumenism.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Apparently nothing I said showed up. I'll try to remember it all.

    1) We didn't do Santa with either of our kids. There is nothing biblical about Santa. It teaches reword for good works instead of grace. We didn't do easter bunny, tooth fairy or anything else either. If you lie about so many things that kids can't see, why would they beleive you about God and Christ.

    2) The tree is biblically neutral. There is nothing good or bad about it.

    3) Why? Easter is on Sunday every year and people come out of the woodwork that never come any other time. Why should Christmas be different. If it's on a Sunday you go to church.

    4) We generally give to Annie Armstron and Salvation Army or we provide for a local family in need.

    5) Just another way of taking Christ out of the conversation. We should be finding ways to get God and Christ into conversation, not out of it.

    6) Don't go into debt to try to convince someone that you love them or a mythical man is real.

    7) It's a good thing. We don't do it because we live in a very rural area and there just isn't a need for that. We are providing cooked meals for several families in need.

    8) I always felt like Easter/Passover should be more emphasized than Christmas, but I don't see anything wrong with celebrating the birth of Christ. Since we really have no idea what day he was born, Dec. 25th is just as good a day as any other.

    1) You're teaching a lie.
    2) If one can have lilies on Easter, one can have a Christmas tree.
    3) Valid reason.
    4) The Red Cross is a scam. The Salvation Army is a true charity.
    5) Legitimate shorthand.
    6) The thoughtfulness of the gift is the object. And thoughtfulness is frugal.
    7) More devout than Christmas in the Park
    8) It wasn't based on pagan worship. But even if it were, why should the Devil have all the good holidays?
    9) Christmas is recognized world wide as a Christian observance.

I have come to a similar conclusion. Over attention to the glam is usually a substitute for inward grace.
