Does anyone know why MacArthur does not invite him to the Shepherds Conferences? CARSON is Reformed as I recall.

He is a Continuationist. MacArthur is the author of Charismatic Chaos which exposes the folly of such gifts still being active.

Oh that's why. That must also be why Chan is never invited. I know why he does not invite people like Lutzer, Jeremiah, and others is because they are not Calvinist.

In other words, MacArthur wouldn't be able to hold his own should a wild debate breakout amongst all the fellowshipping. :Biggrin

(Plus he's from Canada....you know how those people can get...Captain Kirk was from Canada).

No, because C.J. Mahaney has been featured at Shepherds Conference.

He only supports a limited view on prophecy, same as Dr Grudem, correct?

Dr Carson is Reformed, but holds to same views as Dr Grudem, in that the Lord has a limited form of prophecy operating today still!

Most Reformed pastors of the continuationist persuasion hold to a limited form of prophecy (i.e. John Piper, Wayne Grudem, C.J. Mehaney, and D.A. Carson).

The trick for them would be to try to use the bible to allow for this limited viewpoint, as the NT prophets in Acts seem to not be used in that way!
