The Bottom Line is at the very end of The Book

Revelation 21:
6 I will give of the fountain of the water of (eternal) life freely to him who thirsts (spiritually).
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Those who thirst for spiritual truth AND are overcomers will receive eternal life.
But, all sinners will have their part in the lake of fire.
The contrast is clear: overcomers vs. sinners.
How could a just God NOT lump all habitual unrepentant sinners together as part of one group?
Would a just God condemn one group for their sins while ignoring the same sins in another group?

Now, let’s be clear about who an overcomer is.
Revelation 3:
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
An overcomer has heard Jesus’ voice and responded to His invitation to fellowship with Him.
But also, and here’s the key: An overcomer is one who has overcome as Jesus overcame!
What did Jesus overcome?
Here are some of the things Jesus did to be an overcomer …
He obeyed God, He did not sin, He was victorious over Satan, He overcame persecution.
But we are dealing mostly with sin now … Jesus was tempted in every way, but did not sin.

Here we have a close parallel to the above (overcomers vs. sinners):
Revelation 22:
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,
that they may have the right to the tree of (eternal) life,
and may enter through the gates into the city (of New Jerusalem).
15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters,
and whoever loves and practices a lie.
Overcomers are those who obey Jesus’ commandments, and who receive eternal life.
Sinners are excluded from the New Jerusalem (and eternal life).

Oh boy, here we go again with this passage!

John 10:
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Now, guess what? ...
You have to figure out exactly what Jesus is talking about re: the words in red!
I would say ... especially that "follow" thing!

Also, you need to understand what the NT means by "believing" in Jesus.
What is the correct response to believing taught in the NT?
"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."'

Might it be what almost all western churches are doing these days,
which is habitual unrepentant sinning?
