    The story of Job teaches us that , it was satan that caused those disasters and not God , Job 1, Jesus called satan a thief in John 10:10, Jesus says , satan wants to murder everyone , but JESUS CAME TO GIVE US LIFE AND TO GIVE US A BETTER LIFE.

    THEREFORE IT WAS SATAN THAT CAUSED KATRINA AND OTHER DISASTERS AROUND THE WORLD THESE DAYS. PLEASE WATCH THE SEMINAR FOR MORE DETAILS.

    Yes, the devil causes mostof the suffering inthe world, and God gets blamed for it, no doubt. But, He is still the same God that destroyed the world with a flood, the same God that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. He judges.

    Remember Satan could do nothing to Job without God's permission. If he could then Satan would be stronger than God and that is not possible, or God wouldn't be God. :rolleyes:

    True - God had to withdraw His protection to allow the tragedy to happen.

    Here are some cases (Lev 18) where God says He WILL not only withdraw -- in fact He will judge and destroy.

    Satan did not bring the flood - nor will Satan create the Lake of fire. So even though we can know that Satan causes the damage we see every day- there are cases where God Himself destroys.

    (See also Matt 10 and Rev 14)

    Actually, the story of Job does teach that sometimes Satan does bring destruction, and that God allows it, and that the person who Satan brought destruction to may not necessarily be "wicked"... like Job wasnt wicked.

    But then again sometimes God does bring destruction to the wicked. And sometimes God uses His angels to "hold back" destructive forces.

    Rv:7:1: And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

    But in reality, nobody really can know for sure what the cause of the hurricane Katrina was, whether it was from Satan, just nature, or from God as condemnation for the wickedness there. We just do not know.

    Ive been in Christian chat rooms where they just INSIST that Katrina was a judgment from God, etc.

    ...which bothers me because then if a destructive hurricane or other force of nature were to hit YOUR church or your community, etc... what if everyone automatically condemned YOU as being wicked?

    Remember the story of the man born blind? and people said that his parents mustve been sinners or else God wouldnt of brought this upon him? But Jesus said, no, that wasnt true.

    John 9:
    1: And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
    2: And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
    3: Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

    so I think we should be really careful one way or the other in trying to decide whether something like that was from God or not, because really... we dont know.

    And then again, if it IS from God then do you want to be responsible for helping to lessen the blow that God intended, by assuring people that it was NOT because of the wickedness there?

    Ezekiel 13:22: "Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life"

    We wouldnt want to do either of those two things mentioned in the bible verse above, I would hope
