What Disqualifies Allah As The Supreme God ? 1} God was never known by the name Allah. The True God has a Name.He is not simply known as god.God has been known as The Almighty,The Most High, Elohim,Adonai,Yah, etc but not by the name Allah. There is God and there are gods.Almost every Roman emperor wanted to be known as a god.In some countries people worship almost anything.Animals,birds,reptiles-These are all gods to them.
2} In heaven there is no God by the name Allah The prophets or the scriptures never mentioned anything about a God in heaven by the name Allah.
3} God has given his children the privilege of calling him Father.”To as many as received him to them he gave right to become children of God.”John;1:12 [ Allah never did this.]”He cannot beget”- The Koran says. But the True God has a Son .He is Almighty He can beget [Psalm;2:1]and He has children too whom he begot.[“They are born of God.” John;1:13 ]-The Bible says.
4} The God in heaven sent His Son into the world as the Savior of the world. And spoke from heaven about His Son,”This is my Beloved Son listen to him.”If Allah were God he would have spoken about Jesus Christ.
5} God gives his children the Holy Spirit. He is the Living God. Allah cannot do this.
6} There was a pagan deity in the middle east by the name Allah .Those people in that area worshiped this god and were associated with moon worship.
7} True God forbids his people from the worship of sun and moon [Deuteronomy;4:19] Worshiping sun and moon is a heritage given to the pagan people according to Moses.Moon is a symbol of pagan worship.True worshipers have nothing to do with the moon.

    Isaiah 41:22-24
22 Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of naught: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

I don't dispute the false nature in which Muslims worship, but we as Christians need to be accurate in our witness.
That's untrue. In fact, Moses asks GOd for his name, and he says "I am that I am" (or, in the Hebrew "I will be what I will be"). He's telling Moses "Sorry, no name, no calling card. I simply am what I am."

You are simply wrong here. The Hebrew "I am", has been considered the "name" of the Almighty since God spoke it to Moses on the mountain.

It is not "Sorry, no name, no calling card. I simply am what I am."

It is a profound statement of existence, given to a people that had not heard from God for over 400 years. They took it for what it is, the name of God, and the priests would not even speak the name, except the high priest, once a year, for fear of taking the name in vain.

Answer- God introduced himself to Moses as the God of Abraham ,Isacc and Jacob.
"I am the God of your father--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God."Exodus;3:6

God always revealed himself to 'His people' in a way that they could better know him and understand Him and trust Him.To Abraham he revealed himself as The Almighty God -not simply god. To Isac and Jacob he made Himself known as the God of Abraham. When He spoke to Moses He said he was the God of their fathers.Abraham , Isac and Jacob and later he revealed to the children of Israel as Jehova -The LORD.And finally God revealed Himself through His Son Jesus Christ. He is not simply known as god in all the scriptures.

Romans 8:14-17,"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

When Jesus said "I am that I am" to the Jews, they crucified him. He makes himself to be God they said--the charge was blasphemy. Jesus is either God or the greatest imposter ever.

There is no congruency between Jehovah and Allah nor Jesus and Muhammed. Jesus died and was resurrected. Muhammed died and is still in the grave.

I beg to differ. God does not have a name, did not give himself a name, and there is no name given to God by himself. None.

EX 3:14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: `I AM has sent me to you.' "

EX 3:15 God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, `The LORD, the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

"Allah" is not God's personal name, but Christians who speak Arabic have been using the name to refer to God for centuries. The Indonesian Bible translates "Elohim" and 'Theos' as 'Allah' as well.

It is said that Christians and Jews called God, 'Allah' before Muhammad. I have not found solid written evidence of this because it seems that none exists that has been discovered.

The closest proof I have found is that 'Abdullah (servant of Allah/God) was a common Christian baptized name. One of the early people who brought Christianity to the Arabs was named Abdullah, and it is possible they were named after him, but wouldn't it be odd for Christians to name their kids 'Abdullah' if 'Allah' were not the name of God they used in their language?

'Allah' ('god') was also what the Sabeans called their moon god, and Allat ('goddess') was what they called their sun goddess.

The possible derivations I have heard for 'Allah' is that it is either a contraction in Arabic or from Aramaic.

One derivation is that it is a contraction of al illah. That would mean 'the God.' Another explanation is that it comes from the Aramaic 'Alaha.' Both 'Alaha' and 'illah' are cognate with 'El', and 'Elohim' in Hebrew.

If the name was also used for a moon god during Muhammad's time, that does not invalidate the use of 'Allah' as a name for the God of Abraham. the word 'El' was used to refer to God, but the Ugarits had a different concept of an 'El' they worshipped, who got drunk once and fell in his own vomit, and headed up a pantheon of gods in their mythology, many of which are condemned in the scriptures that speak against Israel's idolatry. The Ugaritic Canaanite 'El' is not the 'El' of the Bible, but the word 'El' is still a legitimate word for God.

There are many Muslim concepts about God that are not consistent with the Bible. Christians do not believe that God is the greatest deceiver of all, for example. But that does not change the fact that Christians call God 'Allah' and may have done so before Muhammad came along.

Christians who say 'Allah is not God' are usually ignorant of the Arabic language. It is akin to someone finding pagan usages of the Germanic word from which we get the word 'God' and saying that 'God is not Elohim.'

My wife (who is a teacher) has a student whose parents are from Jordan. Arabic is their primary language. They concur with Link's post. (They're Christians, btw).

But that's all neither here nor there. The contention of the topic is the difference between God as we know Him, and God as the Koran describes him. I have no problem with the concept of the Arabs being the offspring of Ishmasl, or of Muslims tracing their lineage to Abraham. The fact is that Muslims and Jews, presuming we can say they worship God, do not worship God truly. The worship God falsely, for they do not have an accurate comprehension of the Almighty. Like the Athenians, they may be faithful out of ignorance, but their concept of God is not the same concept that Jesus and the NT give us.
