People use Jesus as a prop to glorify themselves and their talents. The spoken word does not do this.

I can't help it. I'm just sharing my experience in the Babylonian church culture.

Again, you have the spiritual gift of judging others motives?

Based upon your views, that would be about 99% of all American Churches.

Not so bro. The genealogy to Mary bypasses Jeconiah and descend s through Nathan, not Soloman.

Jesus was a descendant of Jeconiah through Shealtiel and Zerubbabel (legally through Joseph Matthew 1:12 or genetically through Mary Luke 3:27).

“Then I considered all the skillful work that is done: Surely it is nothing more than competition between one person and another. This also is profitless—like chasing the wind.” (Ecclesiastes 4:4)

Several years ago, our church received an invitation from another church. It read something like this,

Join us for an Evening of Worship with Graham Kendrick, tickets £12.00 per head, 1000 available.

When I asked a supporter of that church. "Since when have we been charging for worship?" He said is is really a concert, and he is a professional musician. Did David write his Psalms for cash? Or Wesley his hymns, or Spurgeon? Or any other of he great hymn writers of the past? I am sure they wrote them for the glory of God.

Bible though states that the sower of the word should be paid for his work, so wouldm see musicians and artists/authors in same light. not to be seeking money, but still should be supported by those who are blessed by the ministry!

    Many are.

Have you been into some of those churches that have worship groups (I stumbled into one and thought they were more like professional mourners.) Rock groups that are no different from the world. In many modern churches they have entertainment instead of preaching.

I have a hard time thinking of "Alice Cooper" being a real Christian. He was recently in the blasphemous rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" as Herod.

True, but I can just go by his own testimony, and only God knows who has impacted among his own peers for Christ!

I agree that there are some who really are not minstering well at all, but cannot make a blanket statement that all of them are fake!

Yes I would appear so, But how did Zerubbabel appear in two different genealogies with two different beginnings?
Sorry Bro, I goth the wrong king, I should have been quoting :

    • Jeremiah 6:30 Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

Not possible in this world. Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world. But he rules in heavenly Jerusalem above. Only those who are born again can see this.

“But you have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly and congregation of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does.” (Hebrews 12:22–24)
