But He goes on and says in His High Priestly prayer...

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.[John 17:20,21]

He is not praying for the world, but for His disciples and also for those who believe afterwards.

There is a kind of childish debate tactic common on this board where one makes childish and demeaning statements, posts, or implications about those or their views to the point that they no longer want to carry on with such a conversation that only falls into further childish and hateful back and forth.

When they do then they are accused of not wanting to answer their questions. This is neither right nor logical for the following reasons:

    1. They cannot know the motives of another. It's just not possible.
    2. It is a taunting mechanism and not something that would promote serious discussion.
    3. It is a tool that is meant to further demean the other so as to declare themselves the winner of the debate.

Those who engage in such behavior cannot be taken seriously.

    Again...

    Will you please answer this?

    One question...

God so loved the world...John 3:16

“I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.[John 17:6-9]

Now, if God loved the world, meaning everybody from all times, then why does the Christ not pray for the world in the above passage?

If God loves the world, and the world means everybody w/o exception, then why is the Christ not praying for those very ppl the Father loves? You have the triune God at odds with Each Other.

I hope you will take time to answer these questions I have asked you 3-4 times...

IOW, when gotten by the shorthairs, it's either...

    --deflect
    --play the victim
    --run and hide

In this case, its all of the above.

We are not being childish, we just expect ppl to answer our questions when we ask them. If I am asked, I answer them.

    I agree...right up until here:

" I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them." ( John 17:6-10 )

Then we skip down and He says this:

" Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;" ( John 17:20 )

His disciples, minus Judas, plus all those which shall believe on Him through the disciples' word.

He's not praying for the world, but for those whom the Father has given to Him:

"as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him." ( John 17:2 )

" But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." ( John 6:64-65 )

" And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. " ( John 6:39 )

    See it?

Neither am I. He got sideways with a meme I posted that shows the proper way John 3:16 should be translated.

The phrase "the Father has given Him" is only a reference to His immediate disciples. His praying for those who believe because of them doesn't change that.

    In John 6:39?

    Here's a wider look:

" And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." ( John 6:35-40 )

Those that come to Him are those that believe on Him, are those that were given to Him by the Father.

    God's blessings to you, sir.

    But then the Christ says...

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me."[John 17:20,21]

He is praying for those who believe...I.E. believers...not unbelievers.

    Thank you Squire.

    Now, back to the OP:

    Does God hate anyone?
    Yes.

These six [things] doth the Lord hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
17 a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 a false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. " ( Proverbs 6:16-19 )

Notice a false witness(speaks to the person) and he(speaks to the person) who sows discord.

Blows that hypothesis of God hating the sin but loving the sinner right out of the H2O.
