Moses' grandfather Kohath was one of the 70 that went with Jacob into Egypt. As I understand iot Moses was was 80 at the time of Exodus, so that fits in well with 230 years in Egypt.

With God all things are possible. Joseph married an Egytian woman so his sons were half breeds., but they were the patriarchs of two tribes.

Moses' family history is somewhat complicated. His mother was also his great aunt.

The father of Moses was Amram. He maried his aunt, Jochchabed, the Daughter of Levi. Levi was the grandfather of Moses through Jochabed.
    • Exodus 6:20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life o f Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.
The father of Moses, Amram wa
    • Numbers 26:58 These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
Korath was one who went into Egypt, but his sister, moses' mother was born in Egypt. . All this fits in with 230 years in Egypt.

Jochebed married her nephew; thus, she was Amram's aunt as well as his wife. Making Moses mother his great aunt.

It is pure interpreation at best that Israel was in Egypt 400 years. Neither Genesis 15:13, ". . . and they shall afflict them four hundred years; . . ," nor Acts of the Apostles 7:6, ". . . and entreat them evil four hundred years. . . ," explicitly says in Egypt.

On the premise that Israel was 400 years in Egypt, how may actual years was it between the promise to Abraham, given age 75, Genesis 12:1-7, to the giving of the Law, Exodus 12:40, Galatians 3:17? Please.

Acts 7:6 And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

No verse in scripture "explicitly" says they weren't in Egypt 400 years. I win.
