Did Jesus call John the First Baptist?

(Twentieth-century Baptists do not claim identity with John, as a rule.
If they could, it would be a high honor indeed).

Jesus strongly implied that John was the first baptizer
in Matthew 21:24-27; Mark 11:27-33 and Luke 20:1-8.

"The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men?"

If John had copied previous baptisms, as some scholars say he did,
then the foes of Christ could easily have escaped their dilemma by saying, "of men."

But "they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed."

They all knew that John’s baptism was a new thing, never before seen.

But if they admitted that it came from heaven,
Christ would say, "Why then did ye not believe him?"

By implication, Jesus told those cavilers that His own authority
was from the same source as John’s baptism—from heaven.

Therefore, John was the first baptizer; he was the first Baptist.

(John 1:33, "He [God] that sent me to baptize.")

Since John was the first baptizer, and since his name was "Baptist,"
he must have been the first Baptist.

If John was not the first Baptist, who was?

GOD The FATHER, GOD The SON and GOD The HOLY GHOST
ARE MENTIONED by "THE FIRST BAPTIST."

Baptism was common to many leaders of spiritual groups

Not from God they didn't if they did and that is presumption and irrelevant supposition.

John the Baptist demanded Repentance that was evidence of having been Born Again, before baptizing.

By implication, Jesus told those cavilers that His own authority
was from the same source as John’s baptism—from heaven.

many preached repentance and baptism to show repentance. But that was not enough,
John did not preach Salvation, Salvation is belief in Jesus as be Savior not lust repentance.

O.K., you missed everything in saying John didn't preach Salvation, so none of the rest of the wild ideas matter a nickle.

People who don't get The Bible on anything having to do with Jesus' churches that He Founded and Loved and Died for, as His Bride, don't need to worry their pretty little head over how ingenious they are about Nats, when they swallow Camels and missed everything about Church Truth.

Once a person complies to Rome, The Bible is nothing to them.

He did not have a knowledge of Salvation, He only preached repentance, Holiness before the Son of God comes to save the world.

    Act 19:2

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
    Act 19:3

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
    Act 19:4

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Cool. "behold The Lamb of God, which Takes Away the sin of the World" (meaning the Elect in the World of the Gentiles, as well as, the Jews).

    That is sort of 'Salvationy'.

If you will, let me attempt to shed Light on Acts 19:2-4.

    Act 19:2

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? (these folks were not Saved. They were questioning them, with regard to concern for their souls, as they were not exhibiting typical Born Again attributes) And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
    Act 19:3

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. (they were put under the water by John, or someone representing the Authority of John, but did so as lost souls and had not yet Been Granted Repentence and Faith, to be Born Again).
    Act 19:4

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. (Eternally Vital Good News. If these fellows were talking about being put under water with some relationship, or association, with what John was all about, they needed to be Brought Under Confiction for their sins, Granted Repentance and BELIEVE, to be Saved: then, The Holy Spirit Will End Well their souls.)

I actually don't know what anyone else thinks it means, but that is what it means.

no, the followers of John only knew about Repentance as John preached,, not Salvation through Jesus Christ that Paul preached. They were made complete by knowledge and the Holy Spirit.

John only preached preparation for Israel to receive the Holy Messiah
