"According to Adventist doctrine, grace is the power and forgiveness God gives to enable a sinner to keep God’s law and to thereby build a holy character fit for Heaven. The individual that fails to build the right character by God’s grace will never see Heaven. Faith and works are said to be the two oars by which the believer is propelled to glory." -- From the eBook "Seventh-Day Adventism" by David Cloud.

Well sadly your e-book has no truth in it and is a misrepresentation of what others believe. Now do you really want to know the truth?

Here let me share it with you...

We are only saved only by GRACE through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not by works lest any man should boast *EPHESIANS 2:8-9. OBEDIENCE to God's Word is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD by faith.

We are all sinners in need of a Saviour and God's salvation to save us from our sins. This is God's work in all those who believe and follow his Word *PHILIPPIANS 2:13

Salvation is from sin (breaking any one of God’s 10 Commandments) *JOHN 8"31-36; ROMANS 3:31; ROMANS 8:1-4. Salvation is not that of the false gospel of "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED" that teaches we can to continue in sin and still receive God's salvation and his promises *ROMANS 6:1-23; JOHN 8:31-36; 1 JOHN 2:1-4; 1 JOHN 3:3-10.

Those who continue in known unrepentant sin do not know God *1 JOHN 2:3-4 and need to be Born again into the NEW COVENANT promise to love *HEBREWS 8:10-12; ROMANS 13:8-10; JOHN 3:3-8; 1 JOHN 3:3-10.

Once again this is God's work in us and a part of the NEW COVENANT promise of a new heart to love *HEBREWS 8:10-12; PHILIPPIANS 2:13.

If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50 and if we sin willfully after we recieve a knowledge of the truth there remains no sacrifice for sin and a fearful looking forward to of the judgment to come *HEBREWS 10:26-39.

Hope this help. Your better off asking people what they believe and following the bible than reading e-books that are full of misinformation.

If a person does not keep the jewish Sabbath, are they saved? if they ignore Jewish diet? See certain teachers as false teachers?

You are confused dear brother. There is no such thing as "JEWISH SABBATH". JESUS as the God of creation made the SABBATH for all mankind *MARK 2:27-28. There was no JEWS, no ISRAEL, no SIN when he created the Sabbath for mankind *GENESIS 2:1-3

Sabbath was instituted by God as a sign of His covenant with Israel of the OT, are we still under the Old, or now New Covenant?

According to JESUS the SABBATH was made at creation for all mankind *MARK 2:27-28. There was no JEWS, no ISRAEL, no SIN when he created the Sabbath for all mankind *GENESIS 2:1-3. After the fall (sin) of mankind God's covenants and laws were given to all those who "BELIEVE AND FOLLOW" His Word.

Ok. I do not like any book which misrepresents what others believe. Now your statement that book "has no truth in it" cannot be a true statement on your part. Have you actually read that book? Aside from the fact such statements can alway be shown to be a false generalization. Do this, produce one false statement from the book and the definitive evidence that it is patently false.

I have gone off what you posted in your OP. It is not true. That is why I posted what I believe in post # 2. Did you read it?

RUBBISH! You really need to read God's WORD for yourself brother and stop listening to what others are teaching you. Everyone of God's 10 Commandments including God's 4th commandment are repeated in the NEW TESTAMENT. The purpose of Gods LAW in the NEW COVENANT is the same it has always been and that is to give us the KNOWLEDGE of what sin is when broken *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4 and if we knowingly break any one of them including God's 4th commandment we stand guilty before God of sin *JAMES 2:10-11; MATTHEW 5:17-21; 1 JOHN 2:3-4; HEBREWS 4:9; MATTHEW 12:1-12; MARK 2:27-28; REVELATION 1:10; MATTHEW 12:8.

Interesting e-book on Seventh Day Adventist doctrine. Sounds like David Cloud nailed it! - “salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works.”

Your denial of the truth and your misrepresentation and lies you promote when you have been told directly what someone believes, only to promote the opposite, only demonstrates your fruits by which JESUS says we shall know them *1 JOHN 2:3-4; JOHN 15:1-10. This is simply sad for you Dan. I will leave that between you and God and pray for you. I know what I believe and it is not what you are claiming or what you have been told by me persoanlly.

Amen! Exodus 31:12 - And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 13 "Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: 'Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.' Your confused dear brother. Your whole post and argument falls down because JESUS says that he made the SABBATH for all mankind *MARK 2:27-28. God made the SABBATH on the SEVENTH DAY OF THE CREATION WEEK, blessed it and made it a holy day *GENESIS 2:1-3. When the SABBATH was made there was NO SIN, NO MOSES, NO JEW and NO ISRAEL only Adam and Eve who were in perfect harmony with God before the fall of mankind and God's need for a plan of salvation. The rest of yous post has nothing to do with God's 4th commandment but is a part of the MOSIAC civil laws of ISRAEL from the OLD COVENANT that also apply to God's 10 commandmens not just God's 4th. You do err not knowing the scriptures or the power of God.

Amen! References for the moral aspect of 9 of the 10 commandments are reiterated under the new covenant, yet the command to keep the Sabbath day is not binding on the Church under the new covenant. (Colossians 2:16-17)

    1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
    2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
    3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - 1 Timothy 6:1; James 2:7; James 5:12
    4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
    5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
    6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
    7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
    8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
    10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

Perhaps you need to read your bible more Dan. I will just use your post here and add the scriptures you conveniently or unknowingly leave out as a help to you here...

- Matthew 12:1-12; Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 5:17-19; Hebrews 4:1-11; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revalation 1:10; 12:17:14:12: 22:14
    5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
    6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
    7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
    8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
    10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

Your false claims and error in relation to Colossians 2:16-17 is shown through the scriptures here..

COL 2:16 And The Sabbath - Are You Being Told The Truth?

How many commandments are there in God's 10 commandments; 9, 10 or 613 *DEUTERONOMY 10:4?

According to God's Word (not mine) God's 10 Commandments in the NEW COVENANT give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD AND EVIL; SIN AND RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

God's WORD says if we break any one of God's 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin *JAMES 2:10-11. This includes God's 4th Commandments whici is one of God's 10 Commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is *ROMANS 3:20.

    Your welcome :)

Those are the 2nd commandment. Respectfully, the 1st comandment is which god: God said, "I am the LORD thy God, . . ."
