Does your church recited the Lords prayer?

    If so - Why?
and if for some reason, it's not repeated on weekend - how bad would that be?

If your church does no do so, Why NOT

IF a guest preacher came in one Sunday and did so ......

Yes, my Church does and it has been in the liturgy since the Church's earliest days. This is also attested to in the first century Didache (Chapter 8)

In the Lukan account (Luke 11:1-4), Jesus says, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed by your name..."

    So no Scripture

    So is that a command?

    and my other question
and if for some reason, "it's not repeated on weekend - how bad would that be?"
and I will add - How often? Every day, once a week, month, year???

I like to pray the Lord's prayer everyday something like this...

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. By kingdom come thy will be done as in earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into sin but deliver us from evil for thine is the power! And the light! And the energy! Forever more! And Father we pray healing and protection for all who call on thy name, whether it be virus or any ailment we may possess. Also praying deliverance and protection from this Corona virus. For we ask these things in Jesus name! Amen!

No Scripture for what? The actual prayer itself? It's in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:1-4. Its use in the liturgy? There is no Scripture for that. Only the basic structure of the liturgy is provided in Scripture, which is centered around the Eucharist instituted by our Blessed Lord in Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24 and Luke 22:19-20. It is also testified to by St. Paul in 1 Cor 11:23-27.

The liturgy developed over time organically around the Eucharist, which included the reading of Scripture, commemoration of saints, preaching and of course prayers. The Church's earliest liturgies, dating to the first century (e.g. the Liturgy of St. James) included the Lord's prayer. Furthermore, the Didache testifies to the use of the Lord's Prayer also in the first century.

    I don't think it was a suggestion...

Lego = to say, to speak
      1. affirm over, maintain

      2. to teach

      3. to exhort, advise, to command, direct

      4. to point out with words, intend, mean, mean to say

      5. to call by name, to call, name

      6. to speak out, speak of, mention

I can't speak to that other than to state it belongs in the liturgy and according to the Didache, it should be recited thrice daily.

      1. You put # 2 in bold - thus does that mean that is what you think it means? what couldnt it be # 1 or 3?

So there is no scripture reference as to how often or even if you must do so..

I have never prayed the Lord's prayer in public, it has always been a private prayer and my churches of choice are either Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal Holiness, or Independent (providing they are Bible based).

Scripture and tradition takes care of your query.

    2 Thessalonians 2
:15. KJ21. Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold to the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word or our epistle.

When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking - Matthew 6:6-7

It doesn't bother me not to pray the Lords prayer in church as we are not supposed to use vain repetitions anyway.

If one prayer is not a vain repetition, it is the Lord's prayer. It was given to us word for word by Our Lord himself and I do not think he would mind if we say it more than once in a lifetime. Now, how far are you going to take that kind of nonsense? Will you stop using the words "In Jesus' name" after you pray? I could easily claim that saying those words more than once in a lifetime would be vain repetition. Good grief!

First of all - what is praying? It is talking to God!
When you talk to your parents - do you recite the same words every day?
    Of course not!
The "Lords Prayer" is simply a recommendation of the things to say.

It's a complete prayer with the words and everything. It starts out with the words "Pray then like this" and then the exact words to use are given to us. If I tell you to "walk like this" (me dragging one foot while using the other normally) I mean I want you to walk EXACTLY like I am instructing you. Surely you don't subscribe to the Lords Prayer as being just a template way of prayer?

    Repeat after me:

"Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear ...

Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair ...

... so he changed his name to Ed Asner."

Showing that in this day and age, when irrefutable logic is given, the vast majority of people refuse the truth presented, and simply respond with absolute and unanswerable illogic.

For instance, when speaking about certain doctrines and practices from scripture, the vast majority of response (including from yourself on several occasions) has been, 'Yeah, but purple monkeys can't wash their cell phones in a martian atmosphere due to the number green being late.'

They have what is in effect, 'Common Core Theology'.

They think that they are right by simply posting their answer (in error as it is), and showing their work (as convoluted, circuitous, and non-sequitur, etc as it is), even though that answer and work violates the most basic fundamental truths in the very scripture they claim to stand upon.

When I see such irrefutable instructions in Scripture, I will do so.

Too bad you weren't in Gethsemane so as to reprimand our Blessed Lord about vain repetitions...

Matthew 26:44 ---> "So he [Jesus] left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing."

Because of the context. In the Lukan account, Jesus is asked "to teach us to pray". His reply is "Say..."

    ---> Luke 11:1-4

No Scripture reference as to frequently, but there is an explicit Scripture reference to pray it, as Jesus again gave it and explicitly said to say it. (cf. Luke 11:2)

Such repetition was heart motivated, so no harm done.

Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. - Mark 7:6

The problem with repetition is it can become a mental routine.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. - Matthew 5
