Nothing. I wholeheartedly agree that we are "supposed" to repent. That's the key wording - supposed to. Supposed to means it may or may not happen.

Some Christians will repent and have their sins dealt with. They will confess on a regular basis and God will forgive them when that is needed.

But there are others that will choose not to.

Yeah and if you choose not to repent then you are not going to go to heaven.

Wrong. Again you are trying to combine two separate issues.

If a person is a Christian then their eternal destiny is no longer in question. It is not based on their action or lack of action.

    Hebrews, chapter 6

"4": For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

"5": And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

"6": If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Gekko please provide your Scripture evidence that you have to repent in order to be saved by grace through faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 say nothing about repentence. Acts 16:30-31 say nothing about repentence.

Those two should shed some light for you.

if one does not repent - they will be like a dog going back to his vomit - like swine back to the mud. one who does not repent - might hate sin - but does not really know what sin is.

one cannot enter heaven if they are a liar - a thief - an adulterer - a homosexual - etc.

there is no sin in heaven - never will be.
so repent - or go to hell.

    sorry to be so blunt.
    God bless.

Matthew 9:13 - But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mark 6:12 - And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

    Luke 3:3 - And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19 - Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 8:22 - Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Revelation 2:16 - Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 2:22 - Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Please explain the meaning of this Bible verse to me? --taking note of two words SALVATION and DEATH

2Cor:7:10: For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

    i know...

its sad how one can think that all we have to do is believe and we're saved.

"believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

he'll use that one. i dont know what he's trying to do...

you cannot enter heaven without repentance - if one does not have repentance - they are with sin. sin is not allowed in heaven.

so if you dont repent - have a chill time in hell.

again, sorry to be so blunt.

and just as a side note, when it talks about the sorrow of the world in that verse it means when worldly people are sorry but only because whatever they did wrong causes them loss, like financial loss, etc... they arent truly sorry for what they have done

Since when has it been sad to believe what the Bible says? That's exactly what Ephesians 2:8-9 and Acts 16:30-31 say. Why is it sad to believe the Bible?

Gekko as to your verses that you have cherry picked like Brother Bob...they don't have anything to do with eternal salvation. They have everything to do with the salvation of your soul. Once again these are two totally separate issues. You can't fit a circle into a square peg unless you tear up both entities. And that's exactly what Christendom has done with salvation.

Claudia it's the same issue with your verse from Corinthians. It says salvation. And that's what it means. What we have to determine is it talking about the salvation of grace by faith, or is it talking about the salvation of the soul. They are two separate issues. That can not be stressed enough.

No where in the Bible does it say that we have to repent in order to be saved by grace through faith.

J.Jump said "eternal salvation. They have everything to do with the salvation of your soul."

i think i see what you're saying here.

are you saying that, according to scripture (which i dont think is sad - i didn't mean it that way), one believes - and they have eternal salvation.

but to have salvation of the soul - they must repent.

is that what you are saying?
please elaborate the differance here - and provide some scripture please.

If you deny this, then you deny Scripture. If you add to this, then you are adding to Scripture.

    Both actions are condemned.

Gekko salvation by grace through faith is what takes a spiritually dead man and makes them a spiritually alive man, man's dead spirit is made to live by the Holy Spirit.

This is an act that can not be undone for any reason, because it's based on someone placing their faith in Christ's substitutionary death and His shed blood on the cross.

It is a one-time event that takes place in their life and that subject is never dealt with again. It's not based on a continual faith, it's based on a one-time faith that leads to salvation.

Now once that has taken place the person's soul and spirit are separated as per Hebrews 4:12 - For the R135 word of God is living R136 and active R137 and sharper than any two-edged sword, R138 and piercing as far as the division of soul R139 and spirit, R139 of both joints and marrow, and able R140 to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The man's spirit is now in the light, but his body and soul remain in darkness. The spirit is no longer capable of sin, but the body and soul still are.

The salvation of the soul is then what comes into play. The book of James, I Peter and Hebrews speak directly to this issue, although the vast majority of the NT is actually speaking to the salvation of the soul, but it doesn't use "salvation of the soul" language, but context tells us that is what is being talked about.

This message has been so misunderstood by Christendom for so long there is no way that I can explain all of it to you on a post. It has taken me four months to comprehend the message and I'm still not 100% there yet.

If you truly want to see with Spiritual eyes and hear with Spiritual ears PM me and I can send you some excellent resource material that will go much more indepth that I am able to here and it will cross all the Ts and dot all the Is Scripturally so that you can see the big picture.

This information is so exciting as I have never understood the totality of the Bible and God's plan like I have after being taught these truths. It will open up God's Word in ways that you can't even imagine.
