I had been here before, so I needed to clarify that I am of the Baptist's faith; but not church nor denomination; & so I checked off Baptist faith this time. Since there are a variety of Baptist's churches where some insist water baptism is necessary for salvation, I'd rather go with the selection of faith because water baptism is not necessary for salvation, but it is an ordinance for believers to follow as His disciples.

I d not attend church locally because Promise Keepers infiltrated every church & no Baptist church stood up to preach against this apostate movement of men that made promises that only God can keep by faith in Jesus Christ for why they cannot run that race nor finish His work by the flesh. This is why I hesitate to represent any church when the scriptures tells us to represent Jesus Christ in testifying of Him in seeking His glory.

If I had filled out the form ( which seemed to reset itself? ) but not correctly; please inform me that was not what you meant & that I am no longer allowed to post in Baptists Only forums even if I believe I am more aligned with the Baptist's faith ( a church that did not come out with the Protestant movement away from the Catholic Church, but has been separated from the Catholic Church in history all along, at least as I understand it to be ). I believe the Lord Jesus Christ is always working in pruning saved believers so they can bear more fruit ( John 15:1-2 ) as we are to prove everything with the Lord Jesus Christ & to abstain from all appearances of evil while praying for one another per 1 Thessalonians 5:19-25

May God bless this forum in the knowledge of Him so that our love may abound more & more in being His disciple rather than a disciple of a church, because if the church is representing Him & not themselves ( 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 & John 3:28-30 ) , then every individual believer should be too.. It should never be seen as a slight towards the church if the saved believer is doing exactly what the church is supposed to be doing; testifying of the Son in seeking His glory for that is what a disciple of Jesus Christ does by His grace & His help.

Anyway, that is how I see the Baptist's faith as; a church; a body of believers that did not come out from the Catholic Church but had been separated from the Catholic Church thru history doctrinally & by faith in Christ.

Tis great that you came back. Your fettishes regarding baptist churches, for some reason cause me to think of that "Monk" character on tv. Are you obsessive compulsive?
When you find the perfect church, please stay away from it. The moment that you or any other human walks through the door, it will be defiled and no longer perfect.

Well, help me understand how to apply these words of His; If they refuse to submit to the word of God, what am I supposed to do?

Ephesians 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. KJV

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. KJV

No Baptist church rose up to speak against the Promise Keepers' movement in my area; not in any as listed in ,my phone book. No other church either.

If you do not see anything wrong with the altar call of Billy Graham's ( Franklin's the same ) as being opposite of the gospel he ( they ) had preached, as resorting to their own power to do good & be good by the keeping of the commitment to follow Christ to gain the assurance of salvation.... I'm not sure how or why I should remain in a church when it is on God to cause the increase. After the first & second admonition, we are to reject, right?

Titus 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; 11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. KJV

If they do not hear His words, neither will they hear mine. Still, I stayed around longer than I should have in regards to Titus 3:10-11 But the Lord helped me to leave as I believe.

So tell me how you apply His words for when to withdraw or not. I rely on Him. So maybe you should ask Him first.

MATTHEW 10:14 KJV "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake..." Matthew 10:14 “ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Start a fellowship of your own. Pioneer a new congregation. With the convictions that you are feeling, it could be that God wants you to do that.

There have been things in churches that I have been in that I didn't feel good about. I thought that the Purpose Driven stuff was bad because it appeared that Rick Warren would throw out his own thoughts, then dig for a Bible translation that would in some way justify his ideas. Having a Super Bowl party instead of Sunday night worship was deplorable. I never have cared for the pre planned hand shake where at the start of the service, we all run around shaking hands with everybody; it seems disingenuous.
For the Super Bowl party, I let everyone know that I would attend church some place else that night. I finally succommed to the disingenuous hand shake, but for a long time, I would hang out in the vestibule until the ritual was over. I attended the Purpose Driven meetings, and that is how I formed my oppinion of it.
If the church was going off the deep end, say in promoting homosexual membership, same sex marriage, or the idea that all religions worship the same God, we just call him by different names, I would shake the dust from my feet and be gone.
I see the church members as family, and in any family, members will sometimes get on one another's nerves. If we have the brotherly Christ-like love in us, we get over it and get on with the Lord's work.

Welcome back to the BB, Hark.

I sympathize with your not being affiliated with a visible Baptist church in your area, as I am also a Scriptural Baptist and not "attending church" ( although I am assembling together with believers ) in my area.

Right now I'm praying that the Lord either lead us to others of His people in my area, or bring them to us.

For the record, not one of the Baptist churches within 100 miles of me fully preaches and teaches the entire counsel of God's word.
One of them gets close, but in order to join them, they insisted that I be re-baptized to identify with their teachings.
I told them that I was fine where I was, for now.

The one I was converted in over 40 years ago, has long gone the way of the "Purpose Driven church", acquired a "worship band", "multi-purpose facility" and many other things that are geared more towards entertainment than they are in building up one another in the faith, living a holy life and most of all, thanking the Lord for their salvation.

Years ago they sent a couple of van loads of people to Willow Creek Community Church to see how they were doing the "seeker-sensitive" thing, and then they began their own church growth movement.
I left not long after that.
As for doctrine, they never were really all that sound, and have become much worse over the years.

    Agreed.

Thanks for the suggestion. Pray for me.

Thanks for sharing. Sometimes, Christians under persecution cannot do anything except what all Christians are called to do as a reasonable service per Romans 12:1 in waiting for the Lord to deliver them. And yes, I need His help daily to do even that; Hebrews 12:1-2.

Thank you for the welcome, Dave G. :)

Send a prayer up for me. Persecution by defamation, alienation, sowing discord between me & others is why I cannot. It doesn't look good for me to serve him other than mayhap in this forum. Right now He helps me to serve Him per Romans 12:1.

I know there is no such thing as a perfect church but when they resist His words of correction to put away the iniquity, He had to help me to obey His commandment to withdraw. 2 Thessalonians 3:1-7, & 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15

Good to see you agree. This is my understanding of it, but I do wonder if the Baptist church picked up things they should not have like creeds & teachings from sources they did not discern with Him by the scripture like the modified Nicene creed of 381 A.D. Since the creeds are ecumenical in format to unite all the churches, including the RCC, I do wonder by that alone is why they should be avoided per 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

Per Matthew 7:13-16 as the modified Nicene creed of 381 A.D. did broaden the way in the worship place to include the worship of the Holy Spirit with the Father & the Son for why the focus on the Holy Spirit in worship has invited the spirit of the antichrist to cause some to fall ( Matthew 7:24-27 ) while claiming miracles in their midst of this per Matthew 7:21-23 Seems to me Jesus meant what He said in John 14:6 in how we are to even come to God the Father in worship & climbing up another way brings that thief in John 10:7-9 per that iniquity in John 10:1. I believe that is the call to watch in being ready as not allowing the thief to break through per Matthew 24:42-44.

So the solution is to strive to enter thru that straight gate in worship ( Luke 13:24-30 ) by only coming to God the Father in worship by the only way of the Son ( John 14:6 ) by only honoring the Son in worship as having that mind of Christ in obedience per Philippians 2:5-13 because when we stop honoring the Son, we are not honoring the Father in according to His will per John 5:22-23. That means when believers honor the Holy Spirit or the "Trinity" even though the Holy Spirit is God, that is not honoring the Son, & thereby not honoring the Father as the latter part of John 5:23 warns.

Saved believers are led by scripture & the holy Spirit in us to honor the Son by testifying of Him in seeking His glory & that has to include worship & not just in outreach ministry. This is why I believe only a few find the way in these latter days & why God permits these strong delusions to occur when they ignore His words of John 14:6 as if Jesus did not really meant that for worship as well. Paul stressed this as the mind of Christ to have in obedience in have in worship in Philippians 2:5-13.

This talent from His words is something only God can cause the increase, but when a phenomenon happens in church that brings about confusion, it is hard to convince those going astray that .. that was not the Holy Spirit when He was addressed in worship when it happened. Sometimes confusion comes without focus on the Holy Spirit, but when they try to invoke the phenomenon again, they do so by addressing the Holy Spirit or invoking for those spirits of the antichrist to come as if they can receive the Holy Spirit again & again & again after sensational signs in the flesh in spite of our tradition taught of us as to when the sanctification of the Spirit & the belief of the truth was received at the calling of the gospel 2 Thessalonians 2:9-15

The damning in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 is how saved believers will be damned as vessels unto dishonor in His House as they are left behind to be resurrected after the great tribulation. They are still His, having His seal per 2 Timothy 2:10-13 & former believers as well as an example is given in 2 Timothy 2:18-21 as Paul goes on from 2 Thessalonians 2 nd chapter by addressing those that are falling away from the faith even back in his days in 2 Thessalonians 3:1-7 but he testify that they are still brothers & not to treat them as the enemy when we withdraw from them per 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15

Scripture is provided to confirm the application of scripture in light of the falling away from the faith in these latter days, but only the Lord can confirm His words to those that hear. Pray about this since many assume that because the Holy Spirit is God that it is okay to worship Him with the Father & the Son. The modified Nicene creed is not the only thing that can lead believers astray, but some of the hymns in the church's hymnals can too.
