In some of the different elements that make up life, how do you grade yours?

The scripture cited in the last question is John 12:25.

Very interesting poll, so far! I'm just barely "passing" in some areas.

What always amazes me is that a majority of people are above average.

Yes, very interesting. It made me think about things I don't usually think much about. My only failure was my "love life" since I've never really had one. LOL

Thank you for this interesting poll. It reminds me how truly blessed I am and How Good God is.

I have been away for over a week, camping in Yellowstone, and it's interesting to see the results of this poll after that time.

Taken as a group, after 32 votes, our 'grades' in life are:

Cars and driving satisfaction: 3.46 g.p.a.
    Marriage/'love life': 3.25 g.p.a.
Satisfaction with God and expectations: 3.22 g.p.a.
Church history and satisfaction: 3.03 g.p.a.
    Housing satisfaction: 2.94 g.p.a.
    Career: 2.73 g.p.a.
    Entertainment/amusement satisfaction: 2.69 g.p.a.
Travel history and satisfaction: 2.63 g.p.a.
    Health: 2.48 g.p.a.
    Close friendships: 2.19 g.p.a.
    Financial situation: 2.09 g.p.a.

So as a group we are more content with our cars and driving, and marriage or 'love life' than we are satisfied with God in accordance with our expectations. Cars & driving is, arguably, the most secular of the topics listed, yet it is #1 in our satisfaction with life. And as financial situation and close friendships have the lowest grades, that's likely an indication we have, and are, spending a lot of our time struggling to meet worldly obligations.

It's little wonder the 2 clear and away leading answers to the last question say it's "alright" to have worldly satisfaction, just not to be too 'focused' on it and to give it up if it stands between us and God-- and in our views it probably doesn't, or we would take Jesus' words more literally.

But perhaps there are 2 main ways to interpret these results... 1)our foci are on worldly-- as opposed to spiritual-- things and we are giving much effort to content ourselves, or 2)we need to be 'content' to a significant extent in order to not stay too focused on what we want that we don't have to 'free up' our time and efforts for the purpose of God.

I have been so blessed by God. I have a great wife and family, a nice home that is equidistant between both sets of parents, reliable vehicles (we're not car people), a good job, a calling on my life, and eternal security.
