Would you like me to start the thread for you? [IMG] That is if you really want to discuss it?

You are rather passionate about the RIGHT to burn the American flag, as I stated I will never agree with you. You claim you want reasons why people should not desecrate the American flag, your question alone speaks for your lack of respect for the American flag. If you had a million reasons JohnV you would still insist on protecting the right to BURN the American flag. Let’s be honest.

It’s one thing to claim Islam and Christianity worship the same God and another to deny in the next breath. Your own words speak volumes.

    Your words

To be continued with more DRAMA from JohnV…

While I would certainly agree with you about John's statement, if I understood it correctly, I can not see how you can critical of his statement when you use the Israeli star of Remphan, Chiun and Moloch as your avatar.
Judaism and Islam are equally anti-christ and false pagan religions. Both teach man centered salvation by works. One from the Quran and the other from its Talmud.

It's relevant to this thread, whether you like it or not.

It's not a matter of agreement. Burning of the American flag, or any flag, is protected under Amentment I, and that has been tested in the courts numerous times. You might not like it, but it's a right, wiether you like it or not.

Thank you, Joe McCarthy. Since you're so adamantly in favor of a constitutional amendment prohibiting flag burning, one would think it would be easy for you to supply us with at least one solid irrefutable reason for your position. Yet, even in light of numerous requests, you cannot list any. And then, in your lack of ability to do so, you attempt to dodge that fact by dodging the question and accusing me of being unamerican if I can't think of a reason. By your own standards, your lack of ability to supply reasons for your position demonstrates your own lack of respect for what the American flag stands for.

That's a rather futile attempt by you to dodge the fact that you can't come up with one.

Yet you yourself have an Israeli flag as under your name, which is a symbol of false religion. Hypocrite.
..are clear on the topic, and don't substantiate your accusation. Yet you refuse to acknowlege that.
Followed by more bullying, false statements, and an unwillingness to discuss the topic, from Enoch.

I put, "I would be angry but restrained".

As has been stated, in a free country people have that right to burn the flag whether I like it or not.

To make a law against flag burning however borders on idolatry to a symbol of the country.

Good point Kiffen. Why should there be a law protecting a symbol?

Exactly what I mentioned earlier. While I find flag burning objectionable, the idea of amending the constitution to prohibit it seems a bit on the idolatrous side. If an amendment were to be enacted, I suspect it might go the way of prohibition and eventually be repealed.

Good grief, we can't even have a poll about the American flag without people calling each other hypocrites and defending Iranians and allah and slamming Jews. This board is getting sickening.

Dont forget those who say that anyone who supports a person's right to express themselves by burning a flag is somehow complicit with Islam.

Oh please! Where is there defense of Iranians? Where is the defense of Islam at the expense of Jews? You're quite literally making this stuff up.
It has gotten so because it is being hijacked by hyperfundamentalists, becoming less and less Baptist every day. And on top of that, we apparantly have posters who can't read, either.

Well, let's face it, C4K, the people you see burning flags all over the world (especially our American flag) & daily shoved in our faces in the media are muslims.

That isn't the point of my post anyway. Christian love on this board just oozes forth from some of these posts on this thread. NOT! My skin is crawling, so I better log off.

That has nothing to do with the topic.

Glad you agree, but ya had to get that stab in there, didn't ya???
I notice you aren't berating Enoch for his lack of Christian love on the topic. Your objectivity on the matter is suspect.
Given your lack of berating Enoch, it makes one wonder.
Given the number of times you've been the bearer of teeth, one would think you would approve. Perhaps if you showed true objectivity in your pontificating, your would neither feel hostility, nor would you dish it out.

I have attempted to bury the hatchet with you, LE, on numerous occaisions, and I eventually get that hatchet thrown back at me.

JohnV- I applaud you for not giving in to ideology but upholding constitutional rights. I am proud to say you and I are on the same page.

Enoch- One simple request. In the following statement, tell me how you can defend your side of the arguement.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
The same amendment that protects a persons rights to treat a flag the way they want also protects your right to worship the way you want. It's as simple as that brother.

I hope y'all enjoy your day, wherever you may be.

I don't particularly care - it's just a flag and it's actually proper to dispose of it that way anyhoo, as has been pointed out.

I'd rather see someone burn the flag than to see someone wrap it around themselves so as to justify their jinogistic maschismo and xenophobic barbarism. That I find truly disgusting.
