Many years ago - I was at Ft Lee, Va. I took a member of my youth group out on visitation.
We went to the PX - look inside the cafeteria - I then told Mark there is no one in their to witness to. Even though there were over 100 people!
We then went outside - saw one young couple and we talked to them. They came to our revival that night and accepted the Lord. They then told us that her sister had been praying for them.

I never hear an audible voice from God - but there is not one doubt in my military mind that the Holy Spirit led us to Rick and Triny!

Well then, you certainly don't hang out with the typical Baptist preacher I know. At my college we teach very strongly the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit. In my own life I have experienced His guidance in my call to the ministry, my call to be a missionary, who not to marry, who to marry, what mission board to go with, where to do evangelism and who to witness to (many times), where to start a church, where to go after retirement from Japan, etc., etc.

    Acts of the Apostles 8:1

    Ecclesiastes 1:9
That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

When do you hear a Baptist preacher say God told him, led him, or called him? 99% of the time it involves moving to a bigger church or building a bigger building where he is.

Absolute baloney. I've very seldom heard a preacher say that, and I've known literally hundreds of Baptist preachers. As a missionary to Japan, we had 50 supporting churches, and I preached in many more. Some were tiny, some were large, but I have extremely seldom heard a pastor say what you are insinuating. Even then, if a pastor says such a thing, who are you and I to judge him?

"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand" (Romans 14:4).

Absolute truth. You have no idea what the customs and norms in North Ga are. I have heard it plenty. Every time our pastor left it was because God called him elsewhere. Always a bigger church. Every building program that came along was also at the instruction of God. All the churches around here like that. It's a long running joke. The pastor at the biggest SBC church in our county just started a building program that he "heard from God on.". Usually if a pastor round here "hears from God" about anything, money is involved in some major way.
You can call that judging. I call it stating my observations.

You didn't say "North Georgia." You spoke generally, seemingly about all Baptist preachers. Just what were we just supposed to think?

The ones in North Georgia are the ones I know. When I speak, unless I quote something, It's generally my observations.

Well ban me if I am breaking rules. If not, snide comments from an admin are questionable at best.
