Is God still actively involved in world affairs ? This question is because of so many posts in social media, particularly youtube and instagram about how God will intervene in Ukraine, and, during the past elections, how God will sit the Donald for another 4 more years and stuff like that.

    Totally dependent upon the following;

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

If it is not, "the times or the seasons," to, "restore again the kingdom to Israel," any number of things could take place including sitting Trump again.

    IMHO

As I am not really a citizen of this world, but look for the King, it matters little other then the vexation of being a Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah.

That doesn’t mean I don’t take notice, but I am neither concerned nor consumed with world events.

My children work in various embassies and diplomatic stations around the world, so My wife and I are in constant prayer that they remain lead by the Holy Spirit. We have to live in His providence and His preservation, for we have no one, nor strength of our own to rely upon.

My Father has everything under His control to His Glory and the believer’s good.

Yes, God is continually at work in the world to accomplish His will.

However, claiming God favors a specific candidate is futile speculation. God causes all manner of leaders to rise and fall. Some good, some not. It all works for the good of those who love Him and are called of His name.

    peace to you

    IMHO the world today isn't any different as the world of Job. I do not think the book of Job has to do with the righteousness of Job in flesh and blood. Methinks it was and is thus; Eph 6:12 because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places;

God is calling out of that above a people for his name until the time of the following to take place; Rom 16:20 and the God of the peace shall bruise the Adversary (Satan) under your feet in quickness; the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen!

Under your feet whether you have died or are alive, ie 1 Thes 4:15-18

After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Acts 15:16,17

Am I the only one who believes after the return of Jesus the residue of men seek, him, Jesus?

Is that not what that verse says?

What about Joel 2:28 - Afterwards what? All flesh, Really, all?

    Where is the deceiver, today?
Where will the deceiver be, after, I will return.

Ukraine? Drugs? Child trafficking? Gangs? Abortions? 70 AD?

Acts 15:16-17 is James, the brother of the Lord, giving his judgment concerning whether Gentile converts must keep certain Jewish customs.

His point was that they were living, at that time in the first century, the fulfillment of the prophecy he quoted.

That is not a prophecy concerning the 2nd coming of Jesus.

    peace to you

    interesting answers and opinions.
but, no, God is NO LONGER actively involved nor interested in world affairs today.
God involved Himself in world affairs, particularly the Roman world affairs in the Old Testament, that period of Israel's history when the came under Roman rule because it was His purpose that His only begotten Son should be born inside THAT world, within that timeframe, for the singular purpose of the redemption of a people He foreknew and chose, a people beyond that world, scattered all over earth.
This happened in the times of His choosing, from the birth of His Son, to the cross, and then His resurrection. When that redemption was over, that was it. He cut off His involvement, except in the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, which work the Holy Spirit had been doing, directly, upon His people, in all ages, in every segment of time, in all the points and sub-points of this earth.
He influenced events before the cross, but not after.
Because the virgin birth, Him walking this earth as God in the flesh, the God-man as some say, the shedding of His divine precious blood, the crucifixion, and the Resurrection are events that will happen ONCE, and never again. All for whom redemption was purposed, even the elect not yet born, ARE redeemed, and will be regenerated, born again, quickened, in His own due time, until such time when the last name in His book of life is quickened.
    No.
He is no longer actively involved, nor directing this decaying, dead, fallen world's affairs.
He is still protecting, interceding for, and guiding and directing His people, mostly those He placed in churches, yes, but He is no longer shaping or directing world affairs.
This world is going to perdition, where it was headed for from the get-go which is why He came, to redeem, to rescue His people, and for that, He made heaven, and now He sits in His throne in heaven as the God-man, and in His kingdom on earth, His people's hearts.
Next on His agenda is His return and the bringing home of those of His who are still on this rotten earth at that time, after which He will judge the dead according to their works, and cast them into the lake of fire.
    No millenial reign.
None, because this IS the millenium.
Only it is God who is doing the counting, and He says when the count is at one thousand, not man.

Well, I should have expected this post, but those of us who are Pre-mil will not need to spend time in arguing over these matters.

Time will show that Christ will return and will establish a millennial reign.

Jesus said “all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth”.

Roman’s 8:28 says “all things work together for good for those who love God and are called for His purpose”.

How can Christ have all authority on earth and all things work together for good, if God is not actively involved in this world to bring about His will?

    peace to you

Of course. Jesus promised He would be with His disciples until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Moreover, we can be certain that God will bring about events at the end of the age to His good purposes.

You are simply citing false prophets. Why should we be surprised that false teachers (claiming to be Christian leaders) will infest Christendom?

If you believe you are correct in this view, why did you ask the question?

I'd be careful with that assertion of "singular purpose." Moreover, God is doing a lot more than 'redemption,' He is training a people, who have chosen the goodness of God through discipleship to Christ, to be persons to fulfill the purpose for which we are created (see Genesis 1:26-28; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 5:10, 20:6, and 22:5), to reign with Him.

Every orthodox interpretation of Revelation undermines your premise.

You are making a lot of assertions claiming things about God, but not citing any scripture. Why should we not conclude you are a false teacher?

You are confusing the redemptive work of God for all the works of God.

Asserting your premise over and over doesn't make it true, nor does it convince those who can think for themselves.

Actually, the physical world will be redeemed, and all of humanity will be resurrected and judged. Those who reject the goodness of God will be destroyed in the lake of fire, along with death and Hades, (Revelation 20:14-15) and the people of God will live in a restored world, where the heavens (the abode of God) and earth will be reunited (Revelation 22).

You should not call the earth "rotten" since God deems good (see Genesis 1:10, 18, 25, 31). The earth is fallen so humankind can manage it in our fallen state (Genesis 3:17-19 and Romans 8:22). That does not make it "rotten."

Please cite scripture to demonstrates that:

    (1) God is not involved in human affairs (even "world affairs" as you define them).
    (2) The earth is rotten.

Yes, it’s Anne Askew, a Protestant martyr who was tortured in the rack in the Tower of London (twice) and burned at the stake during the reign of Henry VIII.

I believe God is not subject to time yet all will happen according to God's time.

We are just awaiting the mingling of the iron and clay and for the stone to smash it.

    (1) And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

    (2) But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

    (3) And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

    (4) Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

    (5) Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

    (6) Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

    (7) Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

Seven holy convocations foreshadowing something to come beginning on the fifteenth day of the first month.

Question? Could what those seven days of holy convocation foreshadowed, even begin before; Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world; was fulfilled? Did that take place on the fourteenth of the first month at even; When Jesus was around 33 years of age? The LORD'S Passover.

    (1)
Did the feast of unleavened bread foreshadow our being unleavened (sin washed away by the blood of the Lord's Passover?)
beginning the fifteenth, yet consider 1 Cor 15:16,17 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Christ dead three days see V 4 regenerated, quickened the third day and the finish of unleavened on the seventh day an holy convocation. Compare to Numbers 19:12 but ye are washed,
Paul tells the church why she should keep the feast of unleavened bread and how to do so.
1 Cor 5:7,8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, (of unleavened bread) not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
    (2)

    (3)
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom 8:23
Does that have anything to do with the third day of holy convocation

What about, the adoption, the redemption of the body? Do you thing that might be relative to? 1 Cor 15:52,53 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
    (4) ? blowing of trumpets Does that take place at the coming of the Lord 1 Thes 4:16

Acts 15:16 After God is through taking out of the nations a people for his name and giving them the first fruit of the Spirit; I will return
Blowing of trumpets, the last trump

    (5) Maybe Lev 16 Rev 20:1-2 no deception

    (6) Maybe Rom 11:26 Bulls rep the nations

    (7) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Rev 212:3
    John 7:37 And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, 'If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink;

I have stated the context of Acts 15, which is clear.

All you posted doesn’t change that the clear context of Acts 15 that James is declaring the prophecy he quoted was fulfilled at the time they were living.

Then help me understand. My thoughts with questions.

V 16 Μετὰ (prep) ταῦτα (G5023 pd Acc Pl n)

Μετὰ = after, with, among, hereafter, afterwards (with G3326) ------ ταῦτα this, these, these things, afterwards (with G3326)

What does Μετὰ ταῦτα mean with ταῦτα being plural? Who/what does it reference? In English should ταῦτα be followed by a comer?

    I know, no Greek.

Is V 15 relative to V 8 as far as the giving of the Holy Spirit goes?

Is Ezek 36:22-25 relative to Acts 15:14.15

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen (Gentiles), whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen (Gentiles), which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen (Gentiles) shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
For I will take you from among the heathen (Gentiles), and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

After this, after these, after these things

From the foreshadowed, feast of the first-fruit of the Spirit, beginning Pentecost following the resurrection of Jesus and continuing until this day

After these have been taken out of, I will return.

    Is my understanding absolutely wrong?

Does it appear to be, as written according to, that prophet in the word of God?
