Do you believe that God answers prayers for healing if we are in line with His will?

Of course. But realize healing is an act of mercy and grace as much as salvation. That's not to say that some sickness is not a chastisement, and that once it's done its work then it goes its way, but that is still out of your hands. If one belongs to the Lord, then the chastisement will not fail. You have God's promise on that.

So abandon the thought that God's waiting on you to do something for healing.

If healing is withheld or delayed, accept that, but keep asking with the understanding that it's His will that must be done.

 

Biblically James 5 tells us to pray for healing for ourselves and others. We also need to acknowledge that there are times when God uses poor health and physical affliction to keep us in a place He wants us. We do not receive answers in the way Paul did but while we are praying we need to find contentment with where we are at. Paul said in Philippians that he "has learned" to have much and to have little. That applies to more than just money and possessions.

Also, in the waiting period we need to seek God's face and see how it is that God may want to work in and through us. Our illness may be just a result of sin and corruption in this world not directly related to us but makes us the receiver of it. (i.e. another drunk driver hits us while driving down the road) It also may be a time of character building or a tool used by God to place us in a constant state of reliance on Him.

Whatever it is we need to pray for healing, and God's will through that time in our life.

 

Praying for God to heal ourselves and loved ones is certainly consistent with biblical instruction. But at the end of the day, recall Paul concluding that God's grace was sufficient. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

 

And I totally DISagree with some who claim that to end a prayer for healing with, “if it be your will”, reflects a lack of faith of the pray-er. I have heard this more than a few times, & I think it just makes a liar of Paul; as well of many other believers!!!

 

Then begin a prayer with it, like Jesus did in the Garden.

 

Just to be clear, are you asking if Christians can pray for healing IF they are living according to God’s will…

or

Are you asking if Christians can pray for healing if that asking and/or that healing is according to God’s will?

I guess the answers already given are good in either case, so yes, by all means pray for healing and praise God’s grace no matter the answer.
