LOL, you are politically clueless if you imagine I am a leftist.
Second, when I quote a Christians responsibility to obey government, I am not "twisting scripture." I may be twisting you away from your idols, which irritates you, like Rachael taking Laban's idols caused Laban to get angry, but I am not twisting scripture.

    1 Peter 1:13-25
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

    1 Peter 2:9-17
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Reynolds, the "Tree of Liberty" is the Cross of Christ. We are no longer citizens of this world. Therefore let us lay aside such foolish idols which keep our eyes on this earth.

    1 Peter 4:1-11
Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does. The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Show me where I twist scripture.

He also has no respect for those who support other candidates… in other words he is a leftist democrat using scripture to justify an authoritarian government…. There is your twist!

I would have liked to asked Peter just which Roman Emperor he was referring to. Was he an advocate of Roman Rule over his own peoples rule? Romans imposed pagan worship of the gods (plural) as apposed to God the Lord.

You use snippets to try to justify your support of the party of Perverts and Baby Butchers.

    Simply false.
You imagine that my support of scripture somehow equates to the godless political parties in the United States and then you label me into one of those parties.
If we sat down and reviewed each plank from the latest party platform of the DNC or RNC, we would likely have agreement on 95% of the planks, either seeing them as bad or good.

Our difference is in how we view God's creation and how we love our neighbors. I call out sin, yet still love the sinner. I support God and scripture above country.
Our difference is in how we view our responsibility to obey God in relation to a godless government.

This weekend I will walk in support of a nonprofit organization that works with women to have them carry their baby to full term and not abort their child. In doing so, I have put my money where my mouth is in support.

So, you are making a false assertion against me simply because you really don't know me. You just don't like the idea of giving up your guns.

The Roman government was authorizing the killing of Christians.
This is what is remarkable about Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2. Both passages call on Christians to respect a government that was killing them. By inspiration of God, Peter and Paul saw the advancement of the Kingdom of God taking place by Christians loving their enemies and living peaceful lives even as they are killed for supporting Jesus Christ as Lord.
Since the Communist takeover of China, many Christian brothers and sisters have been killed by the government, yet estimates are that Christianity is growing at such a fast rate in China that there are now more Christians than there are Communist Party members.
Sir, the Kingdom marches forward as Christians carry the cross, not the gun.

How does a Christian respect a full on foreign government designed to destroy them, trample on their morality and spit on their religious beliefs … evidence by the executions of both Paul & Peter, James, Matthew, etc Only John survived the executioners hand ( a story for another day).
Had the Romans succeeded, the gods like Mercury would have been worshiped …. Not Jesus Christ. So the agenda set up by both martyred saints would have been for nothing.

It's time to take Jesus words seriously.

    Matthew 16:24-26

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
    ~ Jim Elliott

Sir, no one can take Christ from us. This is precisely why Peter tells slaves that they are free.
God is above and over all governments. His people live in all nations in the world, worshipping Him. Pick up the cross and put down the gun.

The gun gives the liberty to advance the cross much more easily.

Your method is what the Roman Catholic Church did and it became tyrannical.

Jim Elliott and his friends gave up their guns, died as martyrs and the tribe came to faith.

God marches forward with a cross, not a gun.

Sure it does. Jesus has no need for a sword. Jesus, with all of heavens army, took the abuse and obeyed to the cross. We are to have that same attitude.
    Philippians 2:5-11,14-18

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.

    Matthew 26:52-53

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?

Who will we trust, our gun or our Commander of the Lord's Army?
