"Don't use IE" - U.S. Government says

Firefox is awesome. The only time I don't use it is when I am updating Windows (and then because you have to use IE to do it ).

I tried it this monring, but couldn't get macromedia flash player to work in it. That was on the first website I tried.

I use Avant Browser. I think it is IE based. Does it have the same flaws as IE?

I am having much better luck with it today. Got flash player to work and have been playing around with it for a couple of hours. Even found a spell checker that works with it. Will keep you updated .

 

Yep, Stay away from IE too many Viruses going around.


DUMP IE!! I have Mozilla Firefox. I still do not care for it, I like Opera Software a lot!!

Use Spybot and Lavasoft to block out unwanted issues. I have both plus Norton AntiVirus Professional 2004 on my computer. I They have free downloads for Lavasoft and Spybot, try them, I think you'll love them as much as I do!

I was upset, since I have used Mozilla and now firefox for a couple years, and they removed the profiles functionality from the newest version of firefox. I have already made my opinion known to the community, and through my company, which has a significant amount of resources dedicated to assisting in the development of Mozilla Technology.

I am still using it, it is a great browser, and I use Thunderbird for mail from mozilla.

If you think IE is bad, you have obviously not experienced Look Out Express. That mail client can infect your computer without you even opening the mail. It is not a flawless migration from Outlook, as I discovered while assisting my dad in moving over to mozilla last week, but the pain is worthwhile.

Microsoft doesn't think about security until after they roll out new software. It is not part of their design process.

 

This is funny because, I work for the Navy and there has been nothing said about this. What gives?

Apple's sales were up 30% this year, The number of regular people getting fed up with the Microsoft family of Viruses claiming to be Operating systems is growing.

In the next couple years, you will have apple, which is based on BSD unix, and several flavors of Linux, that will be mature and user friendly enough for the home user, the advantage of Linux being that it will run well on your exisiting PC, rather than requiring a proprietary Hardware platform like Apple.

Microsoft is very worried, why do you think they are settling lawsuits with everyone who will take their money, including their arch enemy, Sun, who just launched the 2nd release of their own Linux desktop based on SuSE 8.2

 

I think that Apple will grow in popularity and may be already, from the realease of the "Ipod" and "Ipod mini" MP3 players, in Australia they have over 60% of the MP3 player market. I surmise that if people go out and buy and IPod, they would consider more an Apple PC to plug it into.

There are bugs in IE and Mozilla (although I do like Mozilla a lot).

 

just fixed my complaint about the latest firefox. IF you need to switch between different proxy servers for different networks, download an extension for proxy switching, it works great.

I avoid any Microsoft product that is capable of network awareness, its just safer that way.
