I'm just trying to get a feel for what kind of fellow "computer dorks" we have here. If you could just say what skills you have. : computer programming, graphics, web based skills, storage space. etc.

The Computer industry is dominating the markets. How can we as christians use this to witness for the glory of God? Just think what 5 maybe 10 people from this board could do for this world. A small project might bring you another friend for eternity. None the less, what skills do we have here?

    Power ON and click.

I've had three computers over the years and I still don't know the difference in giggle-bytes or mega-bytes or any other bytes. But I can one-finger-peck with the best of 'em.

    Troubleshooting home PCs

Repairing the damage caused by unkept maintainence(operating without anti-virus and/or firewall, spyware infestation, adware infestation)

Tinkering with Windows settings to undo the havoc caused by PC owners who have no idea what they are doing

Minor upgrading (so far...until I get the chance/money to do some major overhauling...)

I just love working with/on computers. They make sense to me. If I had the time and money to get a degree to do this for a living, I'd already be there.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Lol Gershom, we were all there at one time. Then All a sudden it clicks. It's weird.

Graphics are my thing, with some C++ and VB.

I'm an IT Specialist. Which pretty much means I can't type, and have no specialized computer skills.

Professional C/C++ programmer (about 12 years experience), mostly on Windows machines but also some fair exposure developing on various flavors of UNIX.

I do graphic/game/util programming on the side for fun and minor profit. I dabble in website creation and audio/video editing, and am the local hardware/software "fix it" guy in my church. I have designed, built and programmed complete 8-bit microcontrollers on breadboards just for fun. I leave the cover off my main computer because I swap hardware so much, it's more convenient to just leave it off. I have as much RAM on my PocketPC as I do on my desktop computer. I am a freak.

Jodo Kast and any other programmers here, I recommend checking out http://www.christiancoders.com - it's mostly game programming oriented, but there is also "regular" programming, web dev, graphics, etc.

I was going to say I was fluent in PC and Mac, but that might be overstating my skills. I have a Mac at home and use a PC at work.(Non computer related)

My first computer training was when they had punch cards. But after reading some of the previous posts I feel rather dumb.
