Genesis 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil.

Man did not loose his free will when he sinned that is just a calvinist concept.

So, save yourself then, Sliverhair. If you have the free will to save yourself, then do so and tell us how it works out for you.

According to the Westminster Confession of Faith "the principle acts of saving faith are, accepting, receiving and resting upon Christ alone for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace".

Now I believe that the ability to do this is the result of influence of the Holy Spirit, even to the point of being a creative act in you prior to you believing. But, is there any scripture to show that not having this understanding of the origin will render your salvation null and void?

The Bibical truth of sanctifation preceding one's faith is not understood by it.

Well, that's purely because your view isn't Biblical truth. Let that sink in.

I understand that this is more of your crusade against 'Calvinism' and it's five points, TULIP.

It appears that you're rejecting TOTAL DREPRAVITY while accepting UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION.

    Is that correct?

Only for offerings within the Mosaic!/Sinai Covenant. There you have the translation of "free will offering" which means it's not a prescribed sacrifice, but one you provide out of the abundance of your heart. It is confined to the Covenant and only to those who are living under that Covenant.

KY pointing out the errors of calvinism is not a crusade rather it is just trying to get you to trust the bible.

You won't find the term in the Bible, just like you don't find the term "biblical."

However, only universalists truly believe in universal atonement while everyone else limits the atonement in some way.
As for Sovereign, we see this throughout the Bible as we also see grace throughout the Bible. Therefore since God is Sovereign and God chooses to extend grace to rebellious sinners, there certainly is Sovereign Grace. Unless, of course, one doesn't think God is all powerful, all-knowing and all-sufficient or that man must merit God's affection.
    What do you believe, Sliverhair?

It doesn't have to be as long as it is implied...Just like the doctrine of the Trinity,

Free will is not like the doctrine of the Trinity since it's not implied by God. If it were implied by God, God would also be implying that He was not Sovereign. You cannot have Sovereignty and Free Will. It's an oxymoron.

Yes. But that never excluded the general redemption.

It nowhere teaches, ". . . “I lay down my life only for the sheep . . .

    2 Peter 2:1, Jude 1:4.

Well its a good thing that free-will is not in eternal Salvation or we would all be toast!... Brother Glen:)

Romans 11: 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

    Both Jews and Gentiles!

Well since Christ came to His own, the Jews, those are the sheep He was speaking of. But you are neglecting the rest of scripture in regard to whom Christ died for.
    The ungodly Romans 5:6
    Sinners Romans 5:8
    His enemies Romans 5:10
    For all 1 Timothy 2:5-6
The whole world 1 John 2:2

And why would He do this:
Because God loves the world John 3:16
Because God wants all to be saved 1 Timothy 2:3-4

What is the means of accessing salvation
    The gospel Romans 1:16
when we hear and believe Ephesians 1:13

So the bible is clear that Christ laid down His life for all that all could be saved.
    All are drawn John 12:32
Who believes will live John 3:14
who does not believe is condemned John 3:18
