Microsoft wireless elite keyboard -- Information

I have one and it stopped working. I tried other keyboards and they didn't work, either.

I thought the installation CD was lost because the name on the disk (IntelliType Pro) did not match the keyboard name and we have an intellitype pro keyboard, as well. So, I reinstalled the driver from the MS website and plugged in the wireless KB, but everything I typed was out of order. The A key and W key were switched, as well as all the other keys on the keyboard.

After much switching, installing, reinstalling keyboards and their drivers, I finally came to the conclusion that the software on MS can be defective. In fact, much as I love this keyboard, I couldn't find a replacement...must be off the market.

Once I realized I had the disk all along and installed it (you HAVE to install it through the Device Manager...not add/remove hardware) the disk worked perfectly and everything is back in place.

LOL! And it never happens when I'm goofing off at the keyboard. *COUGH!* like now *COUGH!* It always happens when I have a project to complete in an hour, have rolled up my sleeves and am pumped to get to work...the ideas are there...the enthusiasm is there...I'm wide awake...then...***CRASH!!!***

By the time I'm done fixing the problem, my work area is messed up...I'm tired...worn out...deflated...ideas are gone..."I'll just play a little Tetris until I calm down"...
