I came across this Christian School website - All I know is that the name is Faith Baptist Christian Academy.
I have no ideal where it is located.

    The first two paragraphs states:

Believing that our outward appearance is a reflection of our hearts and minds, Faith Baptist Christian Academy expects all parents to exercise good taste and judgment in the dress of students at all times. Through our clothing, make-up, and hairstyles, we either draw attention to the Lord or away from Him. The intent of dress code standards at Faith Baptist Christian Academy is to train children to realize that although many types of clothing are acceptable to wear, some are more appropriate for specific activities than others. Because the type of clothing worn can influence attitude and behavior, the following dress code represents the acceptable model of dress for the school and its activities.

    This is the PDF link:

    So lets discuss their polices?
If you were in charge of that school - what changes would you make:
    Additions, deletions, ect.

It sounds like a wise move.

There is a similar principle for worship in 1 Corinthians where Paul mentions women's head coverings and in 1 Timothy where women wearing gaudy jewelry is mentioned. The principle is so that our dress would point TO God rather than draw attention FROM God.

My daughter wears head coverings in Church for that reason, and I remove my hat during Church for that reason.

Men, not women, were to have their heads covered in church.

But if a man wears a cap in church manyvwould view that as disrespect.

    Is that a misstatement?
    1 Corinthians 11:7, ". . . For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, . . ."

    True. I was mistaken.

I guess the core teaching folows:

1 Corinthians 11:16 But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.

I'm of the opinion that head coverings are required for women in addition to long hair, just as not having a head covering is required for males.

Hair is the glory of the women. A woman's hair should be covered in Church so that she does not take glory away from God. The man removes his covering to conceal his glory. The woman add a covering to conceal her glory. Therefore the only glory remaining in the Lord's House is the Lord's Glory. This was the standard for centuries prior to the Feminist wave.

You are correct there are others that do not believe in the head covering for women. They believe that Paul is addressing the Corinthian Church specifically.

R.C Sproul sums up my view on it in this 2 minute video:

I agree with Sproul's actions (this was something he did not suggest in his congregation). I guess it goes back to if it would be a source of contention.

It would depend on who is causing the contention.

If the the non-hair coverers are upset at the hair coverers then those upset need to suck it up and follow the weaker brother advice.

If the hair coverers are blackguarding the non-hair coverers then the hair coverers need to stop sowing division in the Church.

In no case should women wearing a head covering be forced to take it off, barring outlandish situations such as a 50 gallon hat with a circus on top that is a distraction.

My wife and daughter and others in my Church order nice, plain coverings from Garlands of Grace:
    One moment, please...

I noticed that a couple of the "coverings" covered less than 1/3 of the hair. Could it be that should not be a covering?
(not trying to be smart - this is a valid question)

I think it varies from family to family within Baptist and Presbyterian circles.

Mennonites that I know typically do have the Church provide guidance on length and they cover all of the hair.

For other Baptists and Presbyterians that I've jawed and agreed with, the presence of a visible covering seems enough to satisfy the requirement in Corinthians. If the husband and wife agree that wife and daughter's covering is "veiling her glory" then that's good enough. The exact length will vary from family to family with Christian Liberty.

This article does a good summation of length and type:
What is a sufficient head covering? Does it have to be a certain size or style?

Within the bounds of Christian conviction, modesty, plainness (not distracting) there's a large range of acceptable coverings.

Another thing is what constitutes long and short hair.

I remember when short hair was tightly cut above the collar and above the ears. But I also remember when short hair was below the collar but above the shoulder. And when short hair was military standards (tapered, off the neck). Now short hair is pretty much a fade.
