    And yet you emulate them by being works based and man centered.

    Great question… so is there a Bible answer that explains why man has sovereignty over the Creator?

    Postscript: This doctrine was officially condemned by the Council of Orange in 529 A.D.

    I have Greek Orthodox and Russian relatives. My grandfather was named Constantine and I’m a member of Our Lady of Constantinople Church in Pennsylvania. I know all about those people. LOL

    Folks, he makes this false charge over and over, but denies God credits our faith or not as righteousness. Go figure...

    How to be saved:

    1) Recognize your need for salvation from the eternal punishment of God. The dupes of Satan will say you are unable to recognize you are a wretched sinner, heading for Hades and Gehenna. Just as the wicked say, "there is no God" they also say, "there is no Hades and Gehenna."

    2) Once you recognize your condition, a sinner heading for eternal punishment, you need to recognize you are unable by your own actions to alter that awful outcome. The dupes of Satan will say if you are good enough, God will be compelled to save you.

    3) At this point, you need to take the action of the people described in John 6:28-29.

    John 6:28-29 NET
    So then they said to him, "What must we do to accomplish the deeds God requires?" Jesus replied, "This is the deed God requires - to believe in the one whom he sent."

    4) God sent our Lord and Savior, Jesus as His "Lamb of God."

    5) In order to be our Lord (Boss) we need to be committed to keeping His commands and serving Him with our lives.

    6) In order to be our Savior, we need to believe that He died to provide the means of our salvation, and that He arose from the dead demonstrating He is the Son of God, and to fully rely upon Christ for our salvation, which is us "calling on His name."

    Folks, verse after verse says we are saved through faith, meaning God utilizes our faith existing before salvation. Some are posting all those verses are in error and what they mean is we are saved NOT through faith. Pay no attention to these posters of fiction.

    It's probably more relevant what YOU consider works. But since you asked,

    I worked for employers for 50 years. They did not give me paychecks just for me asking. No sir, I had to WORK to get my paychecks. So works are what a person does to EARN something, on the one hand, and it's things he ACCOMPLISHES, on the other hand. Or maybe that should be both hands. :Sneaky

    But that our works (deeds) come up before God is manifest below:

    Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 but unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 but glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

    Now contrast the free gift of salvation by God's grace to man's efforts to attain righteousness before God by his own doing, his own deeds, his own WORKS:

    Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

    Therefore, works are that which deny the necessity of the sacrificial atoning death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, which we call "grace", by which grace I have been saved over a half century, praise God!

    God renders to every man ACCORDING TO his works, NOT because of his works.

    5 ...... the righteous judgment of God;
    6 who will render to every man according to his works: Ro 2

    Our works come NATURALLY, because of the circumcised heart with the law written upon it that He has equipped us with:

    13 for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:
    14 (for when Gentiles that have not the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are the law unto themselves;
    15 in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing them); Ro 2

    These works come so naturally that we may not even be aware of doing them. Matthew 25:37-39

    No disagreement. According to. Judged as a result of what he did (or didn't do, perhaps?).

    I make a sincere effort to maintain the practice and doctrine exhibited in the New Testament, despite changing values and customs around me, too, but I'm not a Primitive Baptist. ALL Christians should be seeking to do so.

    Once saved, we are a new creation, created for, drum roll please, good works. At the "bema" seat of Christ we will receive rewards such that we enter heaven "abundantly" provided our good works have eternal value in the eyes of Christ.

    Yes. Both our works AND our faith are fruits of being 'born of the Spirit'. Neither are 'of ourselves'.

    Where does our faith come from?

    Answer: It is a gift from God, given to the elect at the moment God quickens them.

    This faith is righteous precisely because it is God who works in it and through it for His glory.

    If faith came from us, it would be filthy rags in God's sight and we would be utterly condemned.
