My daughter, son and I love to watch John Wayne movies. What are your top 5 John Wayne Movies?

    Mine are:
    1. Chisum - Wayne faces off against a slimy corporatist buying up everything in his town, including the law
    2. El Dorado - Wayne helps his Sheriff friend, who has become a drunk, sober up and tackle crime
    3. Hatari! - Wayne runs a wild animal catchment company and captures animals to sell to zoos
    4. Red River - Wayne is a successful cattle rancher and drive his cattle up a new path. He loses his senses and is mutinied
    5. McClintock! - Wayne is a successful cattle rancher and heavyweight in his town who must deal with a harridan wife, unfair government treatment of Indians, and the courting of his daughter

My favorite is "The Alamo". I remember going to the movie theater and watching it as a little child.

Unequivocally and without a doubt......The Longest Day [although I heard somewhere that the real Vendervoot broke his back and not his leg - true? I don't know]

After that - and not in any particular order, The Three Godfathers, The Searchers [I liked it, but also didn't like it], The Quiet Man, Rooster Cogburn.

Yes, The three Godfathers, the Quiet Man and the sequel Rooster Cogburn are all on my long list of John Wayne favorites.

Three movies made in the 1950"s impressed me deeply as I was coming of age, The Searchers, with John Wayne being racist, Giant with the hero turning away from the provincial views of his culture, and Bridge of the River Kwai, where the forest was lost sight of for the trees. To be in the world but not of the world is an important attribute of Christians living for Christ.

    Cahill US Marshal.

At one point he gets shot in the shoulder and he tells his young son to stuff a handkerchief in the hole to stop the bleeding. The boy looks a little timid so he says, “that’s Ok” and he stuffs it in himself.

    Tough as nails

    peace to you

Tried to watch one recently, couldn’t take it seriously, too much happening that’s very serious.
And movies in general are a waste of prayer time and attention.
