On Friday, the day before the Sabbath, which is a Saturday, Christ died before sundown.
He was placed in a tomb.
He was in the tomb part of Friday, day one.
He was in the tomb all day Saturday, day two.
He was in the tomb part of Sunday, day three.

Three days and three nights simply refers to the day after tomorrow. The phrase is an idiom.

Back in the first century, math was not handled with the methods used today, so they used inclusive counting, i.e Friday was day one rather than Saturday.

    What were the historical dates?
The day before His crucifixion is according to the word of God per Mark 14:12.

Take a position. My view is supported from scripture.

A coomon missinterpertation of Scrippture. And the fact you hold the view you do, you are honestly not aware of your mistake.

A key Biblical fact, Mark 14:12.

Did this poster take a position? Nope
Did he say "taint so?" You bet (a common misinterpretation of Scripture).
Did this poster claim mind reading ability once again with "you are honestly not aware of your mistake?" You bet.

Here, once again, is what I presented:

On Friday, the day before the Sabbath, which is a Saturday, Christ died before sundown.
He was placed in a tomb.
He was in the tomb part of Friday, day one.
He was in the tomb all day Saturday, day two.
He was in the tomb part of Sunday, day three.

Three days and three nights simply refers to the day after tomorrow. The phrase is an idiom.

Friday is an impossible day. Commonly supposed.

Mark 14:17 was a Webnesday evening. Mark 15:42, was a Thursday evening. Jewish days begin with their evenings.
Also Luke 24:21, our Sunday showing the day of the crucifixion to be a Thursday. Sunday being the third day since. The Sabbath being the second day since, the first day since Thursday being Friday.

It is also "commonly supposed" we do not know the exact date Jesus was sacrificed.

We know the Jewish calendar date, per Mark 14:12 and Exodus 12:18. And the day of the week per Mark 15:42 and Luke 24:21. The Jewish Preperation day begins Thursday evening and ends with its Sabbath beginning Friday evening.

The crucifixion of Jesus occurred in 1st-century Judaea, most likely in AD 30 or AD 33. (Wikipedia)

The Bible and historical records suggest Jesus died at three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday of Passover week AD 29. (Logos)

Did Christ die the day before one of the following days?

'Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Appointed seasons of Jehovah, which ye proclaim, holy convocations, are these: they are My appointed seasons: six days is work done, and in the seventh day is a sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; ye do no work; it is a sabbath to Jehovah in all your dwellings. Lev 23:2,3

Or did he die the day before the following day?

and on the fifteenth day of this month is the feast of unleavened things to Jehovah; seven days unleavened things ye do eat; on the first day ye have a holy convocation, ye do no servile work; Lev 23:6,7
John 19:31 The Jews, therefore, that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, since it was the preparation, (for that sabbath day was a great one,) [The fifteenth day of the first month, a holy convocation Lev 23:6,7 ye do no servile work;] asked of Pilate that their legs may be broken, and they taken away.
Luke 23:54 And the day was a preparation, and sabbath [John 19:31, Lev 23:6,7] was approaching,

Was that holy convocation the 15th followed by a day of work the 16th then another holy convocation the 17th the weekly sabbath?

According to Exodus 12:18, the days began with their evenings and the seven days, unleavened bread were 14-20 and the feast of unleavened bread 15-21, see Deuteronomy 16:8. See Mark 14:12. And the feast day would begin with evening, Mark 14:17. When the Passover is eaten.

I agree, lamb killed 3 - 6 our time on 14th eaten after sunset beginning of 15th a holy convocation. They began removing leaven on the 14th thru 20th.

We were unleavened by the death [sacrifice] of Christ therefore we should keep the feast [ continue to confess our sins for cleansing in the blood 1 John 1:7-9 1 Cor 5:7,8

The point was not that the date was correct, but that we do not know.

    Yep, Christ entered the tomb.

But, no, he existed for eternity, not "then existed."
    Grammar or spelling error?

You may think you know, but your evidence does not convince others who have studied the topic.

Yes I was trying to say exited. Thanks

Therefore Christ entered the tomb on Friday afternoon, before Sundown, and exited Sunday morning near Dawn.

Why is a Friday a must? R. A. Torrey thought,it was Wednesday. I know I was a Thursaday. Well, it is not a matter of salvation. So explain to me why Friday is a must?

I can tell you I believe scripture indicates it was the day before the Saturday Sabbath, but I already did.
