Christ's death alone loosed us from our sins !

    Rev 1:5

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Folks these things go hand and hand, Christ Loved us [His Church Eph 5:25] and so as a result He washed us [His Church] from our sins, no if and buts and maybes !

But now what does this washed us from our sins mean ? The word washed here is the greek word luó and means:

I loose, untie, release, (b) met: I break, destroy, set at naught, contravene; I break up a meeting, annul.

It means to discharge, set free !

To of something weighing upon or impeding over one, as a debt, claim, obligation, responsibility, accusation, etc.; to absolve; to acquit; to clear.

Those Christ Loved and died for are absolved, acquitted from all their sins, washed in that regard, and this even before they become believers, even though they shall become believers later ! You see their believing isn't what Loosed them from their sins, not at all, it was Christ's blood that accomplished that !

Its a True fact that Christ for them by His death has satisfied God's Law and Justice and have been legally loosed set free from all of its guilt, condemnation, and penalty [which is death],

Its just as a women has been loosed from the Law of her husband by his death Rom 7:2

2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

    Loosed:

    to be severed from, separated from, discharged from, loosed from, anyone;

Also Paul states it in another way here Rom 6:7

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Yes those Christ Loved and died for are freed from sin, but yet this word freed carries with it the Truth of Justified, justified from sin !

They are Justified / freed from sin by the Body of Christ Rom 7:4 which means His death, or Blood.

Those Christ died for are washed, loosed from, clear from all charges and attending due punishment, regarding their sins.

Now false teachers would tell us that this freedom from their sins condemnation and punishment of them is not until they believe, which is a lie and a attempt to steal the Crown of Victory from Christ and His Love and His Blood ! Those of us He died for are loosed from our sins by His Blood alone !Rev 1:5

Christ's Death effects our Repentance towards God !

    Jer 31:18-19

18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God.

19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

Repentance is the fruit of being turned by Christ, It is God Our Saviour through the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ, that men are given repentance Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

    Acts 11:18

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Note: Repentance of this nature must be given, we have it not in us by nature !

Now in fact, its an accomplishment of His death for us, and heres why !

The prophets stated "Surely after that I was turned, I repented"

In other words, his act of repenting was effected by him being first acted upon ! He was first turned, and AFTER that he repented !

The word turned in Jer 31:19 is shub: to turn back, return, so in this case it means to be returned or to be turned back, it means to bring back, it means to convert !

The word also corresponds with the NT word returned here in 1 Pet 2:25

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

here its the greek word epistrepho which means, to cause to return, to bring back unto the Love and Obedience of God, and its in the passive voice, which denotes that they are being returned, acted upon, and this is effected by what transpired in Vs 24 1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Its the results of the healing that His stripes/death brings, a conversion to God !

And its this being returned that brings forth or causes our repentance, as the Prophet said, AFTER i was turned, I repented ! 43

Christ's Death effects our Repentance towards God !2

The word for repented in Jer 31:19 nacham means to be sorry,be sorry, rue, suffer grief, repent, of one's own doings , to be sorry, i.e. (in a favorable sense)

Its being made sorry for our wrong doings in a favorable sense, like for instance, when Paul wrote to the Corinthians 2 Cor 7:9-11

9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

And please notice in Vs 9 "for ye were made sorry after a godly manner"

Being made sorry is in the passive voice, its something that was wrought in them ! See Isa 26:12 !

They were made sorry for wrongdoing by the Power and Grace of God working in them, which sorrow workth repentance to Salvation or conversion, Note: Conversion is a kind of Salvation. This was Illustrated on the Day of Pentecost, How that the Risen Christ poured out His Spirit and Grace on that multitude, and it caused them to show forth the fruit of Godly Sorrow repentance for what they had done Acts 2:37-38 !

So repentance is the fruit and effect of the death of Christ. So when Peter later writes in his epistle about all coming to repentance 2 Pet 3:9

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He's merely stating in light of what appears to be a delay in Christ's Second Coming, its no delay at all, for God's Purpose has allowed for the passage of time in order for the full number of the elect, from generation to generation, until the end of the world, that the full number come under the turning effects of the death of Christ, such turning brings about their repentance unto Salvation, 2 Cor 7:10; 2 Pet 3:15 !

Christ's Death effects our Repentance towards God !3

Something else is seen in our text from Jer 31:18-19

18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God.

19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

Christ's death ensures our instruction, or chastening of the Lord, our discipline !

All for whom Christ died are Sons, for He tasted death for every Son Heb 2:9-10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

As Sons we all shall be instructed into the ways of Salvation, we inherit a Spiritual education which teaches us our need for Christ and His Righteousness which He has already provided for us. This is why Jesus says these words Jn 6:44-45

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man or son therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

The every man here are Sons, thats why Jesus says they have learned of the Father. Also Jesus says that it has been written in the prophets about this matter, lets read where in the Prophets Isa 54:13

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

That word children is the word ben and means Sons ! And the word taught can be rendered instructed !

All thy Sons shall be instructed, this is what Jesus means in Jn 6:44-45, which is for every Son Christ died for.

This spiritual education and learning is what every Son must go through Heb 12:5-13

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

    12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

All those God Loves are His Sons and He chastens them Vs 6, and this chastening begins our spiritual education. The word chasten paideuó
    means :

I discipline, educate, train, (b) more severely: I chastise.

Now this is what the Prophet means in Jer 31:19

19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

God brings all His Sons to this point, to smote upon their thigh, and saying denoting their acute awareness of their sinfulness and pollution before God, results in a godly sorrow for sin !

Remember the Lords words in Lk 18:13-14

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Notice how he smote upon his breast [similar to jeremiah] saying " God be merciful to me a sinner"

Its no doubt therefore he was a Son who had to be chastened, instructed of his sinfulness, and we see the fruit of such instruction, Looking to God for Mercy, Propitiation which is through Christ !

Christ's Covenant Death shall produce this reaction or a very similar one for eveyone He died for, guarenteed ! Because if they are Sons its ensured, and they are Sons if God Loved them Heb 12:6

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receivet

The Same God and Love as in Jn 3:16, the World of His Sons !

    Sanctified by His Death !

    Heb 10:10

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).AMP

All for whom Christ died, The meaning of the words " the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ", are by it Sanctified, set apart, once and for all, which produces results into their present and future ! The word sanctified here is the greek word hagiazō:

I.to render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or hallow

II.to separate from profane things and dedicate to God

    A.consecrate things to God

    B.dedicate people to God

    III.to purify

    A.to cleanse externally

B.to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin

C.to purify internally by renewing of the soul

Now to do this, to make or render Holy, to purify internally entails a the making of a new creation, a new man Created Eph 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

This New Man must be Created to render True that Christ's death sanctified us, or its not a reliable Truth, its a lie ! Thats right, Heb 10:10 would be a lie.

The word created ktizō means to form, shape, make

B.to form, shape, i.e. to completely change or transform

So all for whom Christ died shall be be Created Holy in a New Creation, this is how they become sanctified internally, its that renewal Paul speaks of here Titus 3:5

    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    That word renewing means:

I.a renewal, renovation, complete change for the better,

B.to be changed into a new kind of life as opposed to the former corrupt state

The Sanctification that Christ's Death provides changes the inner man, or it would be incomplete !

Also, thats why its foolish to think or believe the Lie that Christ tasted death for all humanity without exception, as false teachers wretch to their own destruction Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

If tasting death for every man meant all without exception, then all without exception would be Sanctified by His Death as stated in Heb 10:10 and consequently all without exception would be made a New Man, would be given a New Life unto God, or His death failed to once and for all Sanctify them, which is Blasphemy to High Heaven ! His Sanctifying death mandates an implantation of New Life !

    Sanctified by His Death !2

Lets revisit the word sanctified in Heb 10:10, its the verb hagiazō ,from the adjective hagios which means:

sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated):—(most) holy (one, thing), saint.

    The verb means also :

to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin

Which meaning it has here 1 Cor 6:11;Heb 13:12 and is akin to what the writer of Hebrews means here by the word purged Heb 1:3

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

The word purged here katharismos means:

a cleansing from the guilt of sins wrought by the expiatory sacrifice of Christ !

Amen, a cleansing from the guilt of sin contracted by the fall in Adam and afterwards in themselves, strictly by the Death of Christ, after which He " sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High " !

This again points to the offering of Himself, His Body Heb 10:10

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Many false teachers deny that those Christ died for are by His death alone, not His resurrection, deny that by it they are saved from the penalty of their sins, Justified from the guilt of them ! But thats exactly what the word sanctified means in Heb 10:10:

to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin

To be free from the guilt of sin is Justification ! The word Justification in Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Its the greek word dikaiōsis and means:

    1. the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him
    2. abjuring to be righteous, justification
The resurrection therefore is a open declaration of what the death of Christ accomplished, our Justification from all guilt of sin, and abjuring us righteous ! 43

    Sanctified by His Death !3

Now the word Sanctified in Heb 10:10 is also in the Perfect Tense, this Sanctification is a once and for all completed act from the past with ramification that effects the present and future, which means that none of those Christ died for can ever come under the guilt and condemnation of sin Rom 8:33-34, so they could never be of those who shall eventually die in their sins Jn 8:24, nor come into condemnation Jn 5:24

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

If Christ died for their sins, they can never come into condemnation for anything ! If they do, that would be a serious indictment against the accomplishment of Christ's Sanctifying death for them !

He gives us an Understanding !

    1 Jn 5:20

20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

The wise Solomon once wrote by the Spirit of God Prov 4:7

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Christ, if He came and died for us, He is Our Wisdom, for it is written 1 Cor 1:24,30

24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

God gave Christ to all for whom He was delivered up for, and with Him He freely gives us all things, which would include an Understanding Rom 8:32

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him[Christ/Wisdom] up for us all, how shall he not with him[Christ/Wisdom] also freely give us all things?

Understanding comes with Him and He gives it to them He died for 1 Jn 5:20

20 And we know that the Son of God[Christ/Wisdom of God] is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

The only condition of Him giving us an Understanding was that He has come ! The giving an understanding is the direct result of His Coming, they are cause and effect related !

Its the word dianoia and it also means mind as it does here Heb 8:10

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, G1271 and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

    Heb 10:16

    This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds G1271 will I write them;

    It means:

with a good significance, the faculty renewed by the Holy Spirit,

Christ came in answer to a Covenant Engagement, for He was given a Covenant of the People Isa 42:6

    6I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

So that's why we have Heb 8:10;10:16 understanding minds !

The understanding is give writes John in 1 Jn 5:20 so that we may Know Him that is True

Which again is Promised in the Covenant that they shall all know Him Heb 8:10-11

10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

This corresponds with both 1 Jn 5:20 and Jn 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

So that knowing given by giving an Understanding as a result of Christ's Coming is experiencing vital Eternal Life

So we must all for whom He came and died must experience vital Eternal Life, or His whole Purpose for Coming is thwarted !

Before Christ gives us an Understanding, the one we have by nature is darkened Eph 4:18

Having the understanding G1271 darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart 44

Holy and Unblameable and Unreproveable in his sight

    Col 1:22

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Who does this apply to ? Some may immediately say that it belongs to believers ! Yet does it apply only to believers ? No, not at the time Paul wrote it. It does apply to any sinner that Christ died for, believers or not, though eventually they shall believe ! But nevertheless its not conditioned upon believing, but solely "through death" His Death, the Lord Jesus Christ's death, on the body of His flesh, which comprehends the entirety of His Person and Work, His Obedience unto the death of the Cross Phil 2:8

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Everyone Christ died for before they believe a thing, even while being enemies, alienated and enemies in their minds by wicked works, they are through death [His Death] Holy, and unblameable and unreproveable in his[Gods] sight !

This is the Truth God given Faith believes and Trusts in !

Now the reason why this is True of even unbelievers that Christ died for is because, Christ is their Holiness before God and not anything they do, He is their Righteousness before God, He represents them in His Holiness and Righteousness before God Heb 9:24

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for[in behalf of] us:

So those He appears before God in behalf are made Holy and Righteous in Gods sight.

Also they are unblameable and unreproveable because the great cause of censure and blame can never be charged to them by God, which is sin, for God for Christ's sake cannot and will not lay any charge or blame of sin unto them, simply because all was laid to Him on their behalf. In Ps 40:12 a Messianic Psalm we see somewhat of the sins/ iniquties of His People being charged to Him as their Surety Ps 40:12

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: my iniquities have taken hold on me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart fails me.

John Gill writes on this verse:

    For innumerable evils have compassed me about,.... Like floods of water all around him; see Psalm 18:4; these are the evils of punishment inflicted on him, as the surety and Saviour of his people; such as the sorrows and griefs he bore all his days; the cruel mockings and scourges he endured; his being buffeted and spit upon; his head crowned with thorns, and his hands and feet pierced with nails; insulted by men and devils; crucified between two thieves, and so died the shameful and painful death of the cross;

    mine iniquities have taken hold upon me; not any committed by him; he was conceived, born, and lived without sin, knew none, nor did he any; but the sins of his people, which were imputed to him, laid upon him, and which he voluntarily took and bore; and which he reckoned as his own and was responsible for them; these, when he hung upon the cross, came upon him from all quarters, and he bore them in his own body upon the tree;
    so that I am not able to look up; or "cannot see" (p); either the end of these iniquities, they being so numerous, as is after related; or he could not bear to look upon them, they were so filthy and nauseous, and he so pure and holy; or he could not behold his Father's countenance, which these sins that were upon him separated him from, and caused to be hid from him; or, like one pressed down with the guilt of sin, as the poor publican was, could not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, Luke 18:13; they are more than the hairs of mine head; as they must needs be, since they were the iniquities of all the elect of God, of the whole general assembly ad church of the firstborn, written in heaven, Isaiah 53:6;

Never to be charged upon any again Jer 50:20

In those days, and in that time, said the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

Since Christ's Suretyship did such a Perfect and Complete Job, God sees all His People in Him as Holy, Unblameable and Unreprovable ! Even when they are in themselves in a state of rebellion, enmity and unbelief ! That cannot affect Christ's Work in their behalf !

    Made Perfect and Righteous !

The antichrist crowd sells short the accomplishment of the Atoning Life and Death of Jesus Christ for them He lived and died in behalf of ! Understand, all for whom He Lived and died for, and that alone, have been #1 Made Righteous Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

That word righteous is the greek word dikaios means:

    I.righteous, observing divine laws

A.in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God

i.of those who seem to themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves to be righteous, who pride themselves in their virtues, whether real or imagined

    ii.innocent, faultless, guiltless

iii.used of him whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God, and who therefore needs no rectification in the heart or life

    a.only Christ truly

iv.approved of or acceptable of God

B.in a narrower sense, rendering to each his due and that in a judicial sense, passing just judgment on others, whether expressed in words or shown by the manner of dealing with them

Notice that it means :innocent, faultless, guiltless

That word faultless is found Jude 1:24

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

His Obedience unto death for the many He Lived and died for shall present them faultless before the presence of his Glory ! The have been made or constituted Law Keepers , Keeping all the Commandments of God,

And they have been made Perfect, indicates Heb 10:10-14

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

    12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering[His death] he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.AMP

By his one sacrifice he has forever set free from sin the people he brings to God.CEV

For by virtue of that one offering he has perfected for all time every one whom he makes holy.

And these ones, at death, their spirits are received unto heaven, the heavenly Jerusalem Heb 12:23

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,44

Because I live, ye shall live also ! 2

Jesus here was speaking as the Head of His Body the Church, and their Surety Mediator, and what goes for Him, goes for them, and Like He was raised from the dead, after having died for their sins against God, they also must be raised from the dead and walk in the Newness of Life, Paul's Doctrine here Rom 6:4-5

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

We partake of the Likeness of His Resurrection [if we died together with him] by our New Birth from the dead, or being made alive from the dead Eph 2:5

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

That word quickened means to make alive ! You see, theres no such thing as Christ dying for one, raised for one, and that one not being made alive[from spiritual death] as a result of it !

Just as He was made alive or raised from the dead [as our Head, Representative, and Surety], we also together with Him, have been raised or made alive in Him !

Thats why Peter said 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Remember Christ is said to be begotten from the dead here Rev 1:5

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of or from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and has washed us from our sins in his blood,Darby

    Ps 2:7

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

This speaks to His Resurrection Per Acts 13:33

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

So those He died for, they also together with Him, as He was begotten from the Dead, on their behalf, they were also, as Peter makes clear 1 Pet 1:3 !

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

We were begotten again by the Resurrection of Christ from the dead !

This proves our union with Christ when He died for us, and when He rose again for us, and this union is made manifest in time at the time of our personal new birth, when we are experimentally made to walk in the newness of Life because of it ! That would constitute our own personal new birth in this life !

The only way one for whom Christ died does not experience a new birth is if Christ Himself was not raised from the Dead, and that's the God's Truth, If He lived, they for whom He died shall live also, to the Glory of God ! 44

    Justification of Life Rom 5:18

    Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

False teachers use this scripture to impose the lie that Christ died for all without exception, but in reality this verse tells us why it cannot possibly teach that, in so much as it teaches one of the consequences of the death of Christ for them He died for, which is Justification of Life. Its the result of the Righteousness of One, that One being summed up in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ !

This scripture informs us that all those Christ Lived and died for, receive as a consequential free gift, Justification of Life, and or Life [spiritual and eternal]because of their Justification by the Life and death of Jesus Christ !

All for whom Christ died for their offences/sins, He was raised again from that death for their Justification, so testifies scripture Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. This Justification is that of Rom 5:18 also !

Its the word dikaiōsis and means:

I.the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him

    II.abjuring to be righteous, justification

Listen, Christ's Resurrection from the dead from having died for those He was delivered unto death for their sins, His Resurrection was Gods declaring of them Righteous, declaring them free from guilt, and now acceptable to Him,

And Rom 5:18 adds the dimension that all whom this has been done for, receive Life , hence its called Justification of Life ! In other words, out of this Justification, out of this being now declared free from Guilt, comes Life !

Well then, as one man’s trespass [one man’s false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men.AMP

If Christ was raised from the dead after having died for our sins, it leads to us having/receiving Life and acquittal as a result of it !

Justification of Life Rom 5:18 2

They receive Life because the reason for their death, to include spiritual death which is sins wages Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin, offence, transgression, trespass is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The gift here is also that which is stated in Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Also stated as the free gift in Vs 16

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

The reason for death, sin has been put away by the sacrifice of Christ Heb 9:26

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Now their sins being put away, spiritual death for them must also be put away, or as Paul says it here abolished 2 Tim 1:10

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

That word abolished katargeō means to:

I.to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative

A.to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency

B.to deprive of force, influence, power

II.to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish

A.to cease, to pass away, be done away

B.to be severed from, separated from, discharged from, loosed from any one

C.to terminate all intercourse with one

Christ's death, put away death, discharged from death, loosed from death, all for whom He died and arose, and the evidence is by giving Life to them,

Hence all for whom He died are quickened or given life while dead in sins Eph 2:1,5

    And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Christ gives each one He died for Life by His Spirit Jn 6:63

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The Spirit does this quickening through the Mediation of Christ 1 Cor 15:45

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

So now listen and understand, the All men of Rom 5:18 that Justification of Life came upon, must also receive as confirmation and evidence of their sins being put away by Christ Heb 9:26, Life, and that means Spiritual life from being dead in sins, there is simply no way around it, if they dont, the fault must lie in the death of Christ, it must not have put away their sins before Gods Law and Justice , which we know it is not the case, because it did put away their sins, the Resurrection proves it !

It accomplished our healing/full salvation !

    1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

This one scripture condemns all who deny that Christ's Death alone brings about the total Salvation of all whom sins He bare in His body on the Tree !

The key phrase is "by whose stripes ye were healed" ! Stripes here stands for His Death, even the pain and suffering He endured on His way to the Cross, His total obedience unto death, even the death of the Cross Phil 2:8

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

And Peter declares that by this obedience unto death, to even the cross, which equates to His stripes , they were healed ! Now who are they here ? Its Believers, for believing is an evidence that they had been healed, that they had been saved, converted !

In other words, the stripes of Christ results in their believing, the Salvation being brought about !

Lets look at the word healed here in our text 1 Pet 2:24

Its the greek word iaomai and means:

I heal, generally of the physical, sometimes of spiritual, disease.

particularly as supernatural and bringing attention to the Lord Himself as the Great Physician (cf. Is 53:4,5).

to make whole i. e. to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation:

The words bring about mean :

To cause to occur as a consequence,

So The death/stripes of Christ brings about or causes to occur their Salvation as a consequence, which is "should live to righteousness:"

Thats the Salvation Christ's stripes produces for all whom sins He bare in His Body on the Tree !

That means if we believe and teach that one person for whom Christ died does not in this Life begin "to live to Righteousness" then we discredit and deny the saving success of His Death !

Its no way around it, and of course since we know all men without exception shall not " live unto Righteousness" then we know Christ's death, stripes were not for all men without exception, He did not bare the sins of all men without exception in His Body on the Tree ! 44

The Belittlement of the Death/Cross/Blood of Christ !

Paul once wrote this Gal 6:14

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Paul here is glorying in the Salvation of and Converting effects of the Death/Cross/Blood of Christ ! He is saying that it was by the powerful effects of the Cross that the world [world , flesh and devil] is crucified unto him, and secondly he to the world[world, flesh, devil], these things did not happen because of his so called freewill decision to accept Christ, they occurred because of the inherent Virtue [Effective force or power] of the Death/Cross/Blood of Christ !

And not only Paul, but every True Christian can boast/glory in the Cross of Christ for the same reason Paul states here !

That word glory in Gal 6:14 is the greek word kauchaomai and means to:

I.to glory (whether with reason or without)

II.to glory on account of a thing

    III.to glory in a thing

And its also used in the NT 8 times to mean boast:

    Like here Eph 2:9;James 4:16 !

But its also translated into the word glory as here 1 Cor 1:31

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

In fact in this reference glorying or boasting is an imperative in the Lord, and this is to the believer, proving that his or her glorying in the Cross is just as warranted as Paul's is in Gal 6:14

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The Cross does Two things unto all them it was for, It crucifies the world unto them, and them unto the world !

Now these Two things equate to ones full Salvation experience in this Life, its equivalent to Peters Testimony here 1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree[cross], that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Yet many in false religion today would have us believe that although Christ died for an individual, that individual can still wind up a unconverted sinner and die in unbelief in their sins Jn 8:24, this type of thinking and teaching is to the belittlement and minimization of the efficaciousness of the death/cross/blood of Christ, and they shall not be held guiltless of this evil in the Day of Judgment ! 45

It made us dead to the Law !

    Rom 7:4

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Did you know that every sinner Christ died for, that they are born into this world, from their Mothers womb, dead to the Law ? Now exactly what does it mean to be dead to the Law ? It means among many things, they are dead to any condemnation and curse from the Law, because of all their sins they shall commit in the body, yes even from the womb and the duration of their lives; all for whom Christ died are free from the death penalty of the Law, as it is written, the soul that sinneth shall surely die, or the wages of sin is death Rom 6:23, and sin receives its authority of causing death from the Law 1 Cor 15:56

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Now how so this be ? By Christ's death for us, we are free from or dead to the Laws curse and condemnation, even from the womb. Now is it because our faith, repentance ? No, God forbid, but its by the Body of Christ [which signify s His death] and thats why its a true fact even from the womb, for its due solely on the Merits of Christs death for them !

It made us dead to the Law !2

Now this great accomplishment by the death of Christ, or by the body of Christ, as when He bare our sins in His Own Body on the Tree 1 Pet 2:24, and made us dead to the Law, it yet still had another purpose to fulfill, and that is , it ensures that someday in this our life, that we shall be married to another [into a spiritual experimental relationship] and that another being, Him that was raised from the dead because of our Justification Rom 7:4

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

    Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

So the death of Christ was not for an end in and of itself, but was to cause us to be married to another, that other being the Lord Jesus Christ ! If that does not occur, His death misfired[To fail to achieve an anticipated result:]of the purpose of God !

It made us dead to the Law !3

And lastly, we learn that the end of Christ's death which made us dead to the Law, ensured that we be married to another, that another being Him that was raised from the dead for our Justification, then causes us to bear fruit unto God "that[for the purpose that] we should bring forth fruit unto God."

Jesus said to the Church here Jn 15:8

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

This corresponds to what Paul wrote to the Church Rom 7:4

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

What fruit ? The fruit of righteousness Phil 1:11

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

    Heb 12:11

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

    Heb 13:15

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Our fruitfulness is actually Christ's our heads fruitfulness, fulfilling Jn 12:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Our fruitfulness makes Him Look Good and successful in that His death was fruitful ! 45

Did Jesus Christ die for the sin of unbelief ?

The answer to that question is a most definitely Yes, if He died for you at all, for He did not die for every human being without exception ! Now from the outset it can proven that Christ died for the sin of unbelief because those He died for are by His death alone, reconciled to God, put into His Favor, even while they are enemies/unbelievers Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Now, if Christ did not die for their unbelief, how could they have been reconciled to God even while being enemies and unbelievers in their minds, while others in the same condition of being enemies and unbelievers are #1 Condemned already Jn 3:18

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

#2 are having the wrath of God abiding on them Jn 3:36

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Now why the difference ? One group of enemies are reconciled to God, the other group of enemies are not, and are under condemnation and Gods Wrath ?

What made the difference ? It could not have been faith or believing in the Son, So the only rational, reasonable, and valid explanation for the difference is the Death of Christ for the One Group Rom 5:10 and not the other Jn 3:18,36 !

Thats because Christ's death pays for the sin of unbelief, otherwise those enemies could not have been reconciled to God while enemies/unbelievers ! 45

Did Jesus Christ die for the sin of unbelief ? 2

Now the fact is, yes Christ died for ones unbelief if indeed He died for their sins, and again He did not die for everyone's sins without exception, but He did only for a Chosen Remnant Eph 1:4, His Elect, or His Church Eph 5:25, or His Sheep opposed to the goats Jn 10:11,15, or Israel !

And those of us He did die for, our trespasses are not and cannot be charged/imputed against us 2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

And unbelief is but one of many trespasses. Its the beginning inlet trespass of man in Adam as stated here Rom 5:15,17

15 But not as the offence/trespass, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence/trespass of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

17 For if by one man's offence/trespass death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)

The word offence paraptóma: is also the word for trespass in 2 Cor 5:19 and it means:

a falling away, lapse, slip, false step, trespass, sin.

Now we shall see that unbelief is a trespass a falling away from the Lord, that which national israel was guilty of, as well as Adam Ezk 15:6-8

6 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.

8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord God.

Now notice God gives the cause of why He shall set His face against the inhabitants of jerusalem, Vs 8 because they have committed a trespass saith the Lord. Now the hebrew word here for trespass is maal and means:

an unfaithful or treacherous act, unfaithfulness (6), very unfaithful (1).

The main sin here is apostacy to idolatry which is unbelief, like what Paul says shall happen in the Latter days of the professing church 1 Tim 4:1

    Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,NAS

It was the sin/trespass that cut off national israel from covenent privileges as a nation Rom 11:20

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

    That word unbelief means :

unbelief, unfaithfulness, distrust. And that the trespass of Ezk 15:8

And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD.

Again the word is maal and means:

1), unfaithful (3), unfaithful act (4), unfaithful deeds (1), unfaithfully (6), unfaithfulness (6), very unfaithful
