Who is personified as the Women?

Is it the mother of God, Mary?

Is it the church, the bride of Christ?

    Probably not.

Who, during End Times is taken out of the way for three and a half years? 2 Thessalonians 2:7

Has the nation of Israel been in the wilderness or desert for three and a half years or for 2000 years and counting?
Who under-girded the 12 Apostles, possibly the crown of 12 stars?
How are the forces of evil restrained? How about the conviction by the Holy Spirit as to the sinfulness of thoughts and actions?

If the Restrainer is the Holy Spirit in the masculine, the Paraclete, then His force of restraint via witnessing would be removed by the rapture of the church, also called "all Israel" but not the nation of Israel. When the Restrainer changes to the neuter, the breath of the Lord, at Christ's second coming, the illustration exhibits surprising agreement.

Contextually the focus of Revelation is on the NT Church, the bride of Christ, facilitated by the Holy Spirit, both in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ but also in the birth and protection of each member of the spiritual bride of Christ.

When you understand the promises to national Israel has been realized by the church (the Israel of God both Jew and Gentile) that have been brought together by the cross of Christ and can never be separated because they make up the “One New Man”.. and the rapture of the church leads immediately to the great throne judgment per Matthew 25*, and there is no thousand year reign of Christ in the earth (the 1000 years of reigning WITH Christ is a reward for the saints who were martyred during the tribulation per Revelation…)

It all fits with unsurprising agreement for those who understand scripture in the context it was written..

The woman is national Israel, or at least the remnant promised by God.

    Hope that helps

    peace to you

The two women of Revelation are the same two women of Galatians 4:24-26.

Does the woman, Agar, representing the first covenant on Mt. Sinai, Jerusalem below, also referring to the Jewish people or the remnant within?

    peace to you

If you're referring to saints, Jerusalem above is their mother.

17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus: Rev 12

    The 'other woman':

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all that have been slain upon the earth. Rev 18

Was Mary, the woman, through whom, the seed of her, would bruise the head of the serpent?
Would the seed of her, Mary, be called, "the Son of the Highest"?

Did the woman of Rev 12 through travail and pain give birth? Is that important?

I believe it to be Mary, a woman of Israel the firstborn of God.

And maybe and I mean maybe the key word to understanding is, "wonder".

The KJV translates Strong's G4592 in the following manner: sign (50x), miracle (23x), wonder (3x), token (1x).

When did these, wonder, sign take place V's 1,3? To me they seed to be speaking of visions to take place from before the foundation of the world, from the verb tenses.

BTW I know, no Greek, as stated many many times.

Do you remember Joseph [Old Testament son of Jacob] and his dream about the sun, moon, and 11 stars bowing down to him? This was his father mother, and brothers "bowing" down to him

This "woman" with the garland of 12 stars [now 12, not 11, ergo including Joseph] sun/moon at her feet is not Mary. It is Israel. And yes, "she" did travail when Jesus was born as Rome was very oppressive.

The 3 1/2 years of hiding has not occurred yet.

The Israel of God. The elect lady of 2 John 1. The woman is the children of the Promise from Adam and Eve to the end of the age. From the very beginning Satan has tried to stop the Lamb of God from Redeeming humans and unshackling sinners from the chains in which Satan has bound them. Satan hates the Church because they remind him that he has lost.

3 and a half years is a symbolic way of saying a shorter period of time, defined by God. It's not literal. It's apocalyptic language.

It's not Hagar. Hagar is the tare. It's Sarah, the line of the Promise.

Read the entire Old Testament and see the travail and pain before the Anointed Promised One was born. John is speaking to a much bigger reality than just a young girl named Mary.

God has his His church throughout this Tribulation period in which we live. We presently live in the wilderness.

When Constantine entered the church, and made pagans become "Christians", the church was organised and the true church fled to the wilderness. That was the same as the two witnesses.
