Did God create Adam and then take Adam and put him in the Garden?

Was Adam created outside of the Garden and then placed in the Garden?

    Genesis 2:7–8 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.

    Genesis 2:9 Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

    Genesis 2:15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.

    Genesis 3:22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

    Implications of the Garden

    In the other thread, my first post responding specifically to this issue (see above), noted that chronology would be a factor, but could not be strictly counted on. Evidently, the point needs to be fleshed out.

    The order in chapter 2 has God placing the man in the garden with purpose and with a command, then saying it is not good for the man to be alone. God next forms all the animals, brings them to Adam who thereupon names them all. God then puts Adam to sleep, takes one of his ribs (KJV) closes up his flesh, makes a woman from the rib, then presents the woman to Adam.

    The point is that this order has God making the animals after making the man. The previous chapter has God making the animals prior to making the man. This includes the fowls of the air, which were created on the fifth day, whereas the man was created on the sixth day.

    It is only interpretation, not scripture, that demands the text of chapter 2 means the animals were created after the man. Atheists prefer using this strict chronological method of interpretation for chapter 2, so they can claim the Bible contradicts itself.

    I am not asking about when things are recorded in the text of Scripture.


    I believe God planted a garden in Eden and there He placed the Adam whom He had formed (that God took Adam and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it).

    I also believe that after Adam transgressed God's command God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

    Do you agree or disagree with me?
