RIGHTEOUS BY GRACE

The overarching issue with all flesh is sin. Not that we simply commit a few sins, but the fact that we ARE sinners. That is our natural, abiding condition in this flesh until our earthly demise.

Psalms 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

The standard religious recipe of the day is to repent of and renounce your former sins and lifestyle and start "living right". The problem with even the best of the works of the flesh is, they do not, nor can they ever, equal the righteousness God requires.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The righteousness that God requires must be a righteousness in which He cannot find a flaw. The righteousness required must be equal to His own. Nothing less can ever constitute true holiness and nothing less can ever abide in His presence.

Thanks be to God that He has provided this righteousness through the doing and dying of the Lord Jesus Christ. His righteousness is imputed, or charged to be the righteousness of every saint He represented in His obedience unto death.

This is not a righteousness imparted to the flesh, for that which is flesh is flesh and will always be so. His kingdom is not a fleshly kingdom, but a spiritual kingdom. This righteous charge is a spiritual charge whereby every soul Christ represented is charged with His righteousness ALONE. They are accepted in the beloved and as such are as accepted by God as Christ Himself. There is therefore now no condemnation concerning them for Christ cannot be again condemned.

The child of God is literally decreed to be the righteousness of God in Christ. This is glorious good news to sinners who find neither hope nor strength in themselves through the works of the flesh. Praise God for His unspeakable gift.

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
