LOL, now this poster claims he said that godless men could not murder Jesus.

But this is what I said, and he claims is not what he said:
Once again this poster denies that godless men, who were motivated by sin, such as envy, could not take or murder Jesus, unless the Son of God, laid down his life as a ransom for all.

    Here was my question:
Was Christ murdered or did He lay down His own life?
And here is his answer: "Yes to both."

So to deny men could not murder is to claim men could murder.

Are you able to get the gist of Matthew 5:21-22; Matthew 5:27-28?

If you are capable of 'getting it', then you should be able to grasp why the Holy Spirit has soundly convicted 'that generation' of the murder of Christ. Murder was their very intent.

    Post #9:
"As goes the type, so is the antitype. Joseph is possibly the largest type (by number of similarities) of Christ to be found in the scriptures with the possible exception of David.

Who sold Joseph into bondage in Egypt? Was it his jealous brothers, or was it God?

20 And as for you, ye meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Gen 50

The sins of the fathers were visited upon the Hebrews unto the third and the fourth generation for the evil that their fathers did to Joseph. But many lives were saved from the famine because God allowed/ordained it to happen. The brothers meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."

Botton line, these things are too deep for an obsessed anti-Calvinist like you Van.

LOL, now we have the subject switch, as it anyone did not believe at least some of the godless men were intent on taking the life of Jesus. I kid you not.

??? The post was spot on topic, which is 'The Murder of Jesus', remember? Those Jews were intent on murdering Him and paid dearly for the crime, whether you recognize it or not.

41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will let out the vineyard unto other husbandmen, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons. My 21

7 But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. Mt 22

35 that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. Mt 23

22 For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished. Lu 21

    14 For ye, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judaea in Christ Jesus: for ye also suffered the same things of your own countrymen, even as they did of the Jews;
    15 who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove out us, and pleased not God, and are contrary to all men;
16 forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always: but the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. 1 Thess 2

Botton line, these things are too deep for your deranged anti-Calvinist mind,

    Nuff said.

The act of murder in one thing, the intent to murder is another. You are switching subjects and lack the integrity to admit your disingenuity.

Should we change the thread title to "The intended murder of Jesus?"

So, you actually are not capable of understanding the gist of Matthew 5:21-22; Matthew 5:27-28.

    The Jews murdered Christ.

52 Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? and they killed them that showed before of the coming of the Righteous One; of whom ye have now become betrayers and murderers; Acts 7

One does not negate the other.

Christ lay down His own life, but He did not kill Himself.

The same would be true of Isaac had Abraham killed him. Abraham would be guilty of murder, but at the same time Isaac willingly lay down his own life.

Both passages referenced are equally true.

The Jews were, as Peter stated, guilty of murdering Jesus in ignorance. But at the same Jesus lay down His life willingly and it was not robbed of Him.

More "against the person" fluff, devoid of on topic evidence.

Christ was not murdered, but godless people intended to murder Him.

Blaming the Jews for murdering Christ is unbiblical nonsense, but the nonsense if advocated to disparage Jews.

The Holy Spirit makes no bones about putting the blame squarely on the Jews, AND, punishing them for doing it.

More false claims and no one holds this person accountable. So the beat goes on and on and on.

Anytime I see an attempt to blame Jews or Romans (ungodly people) for the murder of Jesus, a red flag appears in my mind. Is this misguided view really based on anti-semitism?

Clearly God utilized the Jews and Romans to carry out His predetermined plan, but beware of any effort to stigmatize groups of people, rather than the common sinful nature we all had as children of wrath.

Acts of the Apostles 2:23 (NASB)
this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put o death.

Can any plan of God be thwarted? Nope

What does "by the foreknowledge of God" actually mean? Foreknowledge refers to information acquired or formulated in the past being utilized in the present. Thus God formulated a plan to put Christ to death, using godless men, and has now carried out that plan.
