    Corinthians 9:7
Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.

The problem of those who say God has ordained, predestined, whatsoever comes to pass, is that everyone everywhere would be under compulsion, which is against the stated will of God.

but I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that your goodness would not be, in effect, by compulsion, but of your own free will.

Irresistible Grace is an invention of humans, having the capacity to choose good or evil is the gift of God.

In Matthew 14:22 and Mark 6:45 Jesus directed that the disciples get into the boat. Whether it was a command or a request I do not know. But in Luke 14:23, the Mood is imperative, indicating a request, such as urge or persuade someone to do something.
