Here I sit, sulking, complaining that the posters, who in my opinion are openly hindering the ministry of Christ, are allowed to trample all over God's word. Of course I am sitting in the shade of a vine, now withering due to a God ordained worm.

I am rebellious, thinking I know how God should distribute His grace, with the lion's share going to those who agree with me.

Why should I accept the sovereignty of God's grace, who has compassion of whom He has compassion, when it seems off kilter to me.

    Matthew 6:14-15
"For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.

God uses "broken reeds" people who sometimes act in accordance with God's will, but at other times miss the mark. Sometimes these broken reeds, among whom I am chief, come to the conclusion they are special.

The inability or unwillingness to consider whether we have stumbled, or gone off the trail, rather than concluding others are in the wrong brings disharmony to the body of Christ.

"Off kilter" is the natural response to Soveriegn Grace:

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he still find fault? For who withstandeth his will? Ro 9

...basically, the roots of all the complaints against it.

Natural being the the key word:

1 Corinthians 2:12-15 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

The false implication of this oft repeated claim, is that the natural person, lost and unregenerate cannot receive any spiritual thing of the Spirit of God. This is of course a totally false claim.

Natural persons can receive and grow on spiritual milk, the fundamentals of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 3:1-3.

Jonah was self righteous, thinking it was wrong to have mercy of "less righteous" folks. This is the attitude, of finding fault with others, but being blinded by pride to our own shortcomings that fosters disharmony within the body of Christ.

    Scripture, 1 Corinthians 2:14:
The natural man (void of the Spirit) cannot know the things of the Spirit of God because they are spiritually discerned. It's foolishness to him. The very same addressed earlier in 1 Corinthians 1:18, "the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness".

    Van:
"This is of course a totally false claim."

    Van:
"Natural persons can receive and grow on spiritual milk, the fundamentals of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 3:1-3."

    Scripture:
1 Corinthians 2:14 is addressing natural men void of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 is addressing 'brethren', 'babes in Christ', saints at Corinth.

    1) Is the fact 1 Corinthians 2:14 is addressing the lack of ability of non-indwelt people in dispute? Nope

    2) Is the fact 1 Corinthians 3:1 says Paul was speaking "as to men of flesh" in dispute? Yes, that fact is being denied.

Why would Paul speak using spiritual milk to both non indwelt people and people recently indwelt, but immature? Because both can understand and grow using spiritual milk, but neither could, at that time, grow using spiritual solid food (meat).

Can you imagine God having the gall, the temerity to bestow the ability to understand the gospel upon people in need of the gospel.

    I can! Jonah Chapter 4.

1 Corinthians 2:14, . .. the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, . . .

Yes, this verse says the natural man does not receive spiritual solid food, but can receive, according to 1 Corinthians 3:1, spiritual milk. "The things" does not mean "all the things" because that inference is adding to scripture, which is something bible students avoid.

Adding to scripture brings disharmony to the body of Christ, as does any effort to overrule God, as Jonah sought to do.
