I’ve been making tortillas and putting various stuff in them, but not genuine Mexican fare. Tortillas apparently are the base for many different Mexican dishes. A lot of ingredients mentioned online we don’t get here and they are complicated, I’m looking for really simple fillers and things as close to authentic, but easy and cheap.

We are getting hundreds more people to feed recently but we don’t want to skimp on quality and nutrition, and never want to turn anyone away. Soup is good for starters, but it’s just not substantial enough for a proper feed. It’s still cool weather here, so people something decent to see them through.

Secured a cheap source of lamb, only thing is we have to debone it. This we will be slow cooking for tortilla filling.
Garlic sauce or sour cream with diced red onion and fresh cilantro.
Lamb has a bit of substance to it, I think people won’t be too upset about it.

MY uncles had full herds full of them when I was growing up… but isn’t lamb expensive? How about chicken?

Lamb is cheaper here for the time being, because they banned the live export trade. So it all has to be eaten domestically, and if you are prepared to get on the knives yourself and debone, you can get it cheaper still.
Some farmers are selling live two tooth for $30 each, if people are prepared to slaughter it themselves.
We have tents appearing all over the place at the moment as rents have increased enormously and families are struggling.

I’m sorry to hear that people there are struggling. The USA is giving both the Ukrainians & the Israeli governments literally billions of dollars to fight proxy wars when they could be feeding people…doesn’t make sence now does it?

A government’s first priority is to its own people, however America is more than a country it is an Empire, and administrations see Israel and Ukraine as part its empire and people. In that way the spending is justified in their minds.

It’s down to ordinary people to do things to help. Small things can prevent huge miseries.

Don’t worry, everything will be righted soon, it will be very painful. The people that have been sowing chaos to bring about their order, will find only more chaos until they are consumed by it. The jubilee is next year and massive changes are coming across the world.
Peoples lives will become much more simplified eventually. Life returns to the basics and if we pray, thank God and love one another through it all, we have nothing to fear. Follow The Father’s promptings in the present moment and you will be fine. Otherwise we get toxic with fearful news and events.
Never skip the Lord’s Prayer each day and that day will find you safely inside His Will for you. Our problems start when we pursue our will, and don’t consecrate our day to His Will with true joyful thanksgiving.
Then we can leave all the big picture stuff in His hands and just be His children, carrying out His bidding each day. It’s a better and far more joyful way.

Whoever we are made aware of during our day needing help, that is Lazarus at the door, and that is God’s prompting. Condition yourself to be mindful and alert to see Lazarus.
Sometimes Lazarus needs a kind word or gesture, sometimes by Grace we are lead to do more. Important thing is to stop.
There was a guy trying to commit suicide, by stopping we prevented that. A bloke who had fallen asleep in the sun after taking drugs and was staggering, stopped, gave him water. But he was dying needed an ambulance. He said no one stopped to help him, just assumed he was drunk.
Ambulance driver said we saved his life, he had severe dehydration.

Small things can make a big difference.
