Is same sex attraction a temptation or sinful lust?

If you love God with ALL your heart, you won't be controlled by the lust of the flesh. The scriptures clearly state that the end times same sex attraction is a direct consequence of rejecting the indwelling knowledge of God. We have been in the end times since the days of the Apostles.

Step 1, repent. Turn away from what God's Word condemns as an unnatural abomination.

If you truly love God with ALL your heart, you will strive to obey his commandments. You'll love what God loves.

 

It is a perversion of Gods purity commandments. How do same sex couples procreate? That should tell a person that they are not made for a same sex relationship, that they do not exist in Gods plan. But still they insist on carrying on in a queer sinful relationship which defies Gods commandment against homosexuality. They are thus in active rebellion against God.

 

Martin Luther once said that it is not a man's fault if a bird should land upon his head, but it is his fault if he allows it to build a nest there!

 

James 1:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

 

The scriptures say that some men made themselves eunuchs. The scriptures do not condemn becoming a eunuch. Based on your thread, I believe that you should seriously consider that route, if you genuinely love God more than your lusts. The warning against offending the little ones is crystal clear.
